My husband and I came across this pub while searching for a place to eat, and we’re so glad we did. The owner was very friendly, and the food was fantastic—freshly prepared. As a picky eater, I highly recommend dining here!

A hidden gem. Good traditional food at a high standard. Staff attentive and very friendly, willing to make deviations from the set menu when requested and even make suggestions. Knowledgeable about food allergies. Will definately call again if I'm in the area.

This charming little pub is tucked away from the usual tourist spots. You can tell that a lot of care and effort goes into both the food and ensuring guest satisfaction. We visited this restaurant on a Wednesday evening and felt very welcome from the moment we arrived. The atmosphere was delightful, creating a charming old-world vibe. The food was excellent, with a diverse main menu and outstanding appetizers. They offered a great selection of ales, wines, and non-alcoholic beverages. It's also dog-friendly, which is a plus. We found the Fortescue Arms to be a fantastic spot for both dining and relaxing, and I believe places like this truly deserve our support. I would rate this lovely old inn well above five stars!

The chicken is served with lemon and thyme stuffing, a refreshing change from the overly strong sage and onion variety. The prices are reasonable compared to other establishments, which certainly encourages repeat visits—and we will definitely be back.
