"I live locally and this has been one of my go to places when friends come to stay for good food and friendly service, that was up to 13th August this year when I visited with my wife and 10 members of the over eighties golf club. Two of our group had the vegetarian option of Mac and Cheese and Nut roast, both were very happy one had scampi and was also satisfied, the rest of us ordered the roast, eight had beef and one had chicken, everyone who had the beef found the meat to tough to eat, you could not cut it with a knife, one had the chicken which he said was dry and inedible, we passed these comments on to the waitress but were ignored, all the meat dishes went back to the kitchen with the meat still on them, we ordered 3 cups of tea at £2 each expecting to get 3 individual small pots (standard in most places), instead we got one pot between the three with barely one cup each, you could argue, that's what we paid for, but really? Because we are a group of people in the twilight of our lives we tend to let these things wash over us and continued to enjoy each others company. Two days later my wife was looking at our bank account and noticed the bill, I had paid by card and stupidly had not realised the amount, my wife younger than me at 82 is more astute, she asked if I still had the receipt which I did and when she checked it found that it was not itemised, just a total and the total seemed extremely high, she phoned the restaurant and told them what we had ordered and asked how much it should have cost, they said that it should have been £16.95 less than we had paid but as we had left it for two days there was nothing they would do. Fortunately the poor service bad food and overpricing did not spoil our day, as we were in the company of “good, honest people with integrity”, no Halzephron I don't include you or your team in that quote. In summary, if you want a basic vegetarian meal with an expensive cuppa and don't mind being ripped of, then this is the place for you. Service: 1 Location: 5"

"Visited the cafe twice on a recent holiday, once on a beach day and the other at one of their pizza and music nights. Both were great experiences with friendly and helpful staff, great food, atmosphere and a shop full of many tempting things to buy! A great place to visit and up there with one of my favourites in Cornwall."

"Early October 2023 we were staying nearby. For a variety of reasons, (and not wishing to publicly bad mouth our nearby hotel restaurant, we decided to try this pub for an evening meal. The pub was heaving, shoulder to shoulder with locals. Great atmosphere. Ordered drinks and our meal. Within 20 mins our lovely hot and fresh supper was put before us by a cheerful barmaid. Beef spare ribs and fresh fish for me. Absolutely Delicious. Don’t hesitate to try this pub."

"Coffee good but expensive at £2.75 per cup. At 10.15am asked for a toasted tea cake but waitress said they could not get them. Asked for toast and the waitress said they could not get bread delivered. This is bad management as the Co-Op is a couple of minutes up the road, they get deliveries and surely MMeadows could have bought a couple of loaves from them. I ended up with a scone which I wouldn’t normally eat for breakfast. The next day I went to the Milk Barn up the road for ….. toast and coffee at £2.25….."

"My daughter and I went here for cake and milkshakes as an afternoon treat. Lovely cakes, all homemade. The lovely staff brought my daughter a little plate of chocolates from the factory next door too, which was really kind. Perfect place to relax and unwind.
