"I live locally and this has been one of my go to places when friends come to stay for good food and friendly service, that was up to 13th August this year when I visited with my wife and 10 members of the over eighties golf club. Two of our group had the vegetarian option of Mac and Cheese and Nut roast, both were very happy one had scampi and was also satisfied, the rest of us ordered the roast, eight had beef and one had chicken, everyone who had the beef found the meat to tough to eat, you could not cut it with a knife, one had the chicken which he said was dry and inedible, we passed these comments on to the waitress but were ignored, all the meat dishes went back to the kitchen with the meat still on them, we ordered 3 cups of tea at £2 each expecting to get 3 individual small pots (standard in most places), instead we got one pot between the three with barely one cup each, you could argue, that's what we paid for, but really? Because we are a group of people in the twilight of our lives we tend to let these things wash over us and continued to enjoy each others company. Two days later my wife was looking at our bank account and noticed the bill, I had paid by card and stupidly had not realised the amount, my wife younger than me at 82 is more astute, she asked if I still had the receipt which I did and when she checked it found that it was not itemised, just a total and the total seemed extremely high, she phoned the restaurant and told them what we had ordered and asked how much it should have cost, they said that it should have been £16.95 less than we had paid but as we had left it for two days there was nothing they would do. Fortunately the poor service bad food and overpricing did not spoil our day, as we were in the company of “good, honest people with integrity”, no Halzephron I don't include you or your team in that quote. In summary, if you want a basic vegetarian meal with an expensive cuppa and don't mind being ripped of, then this is the place for you. Service: 1 Location: 5"

"We came here for my dads birthday dinner in June with our nearly 3 week old baby !! . In hindsight this was very bold of us as it was a Saturday evening but everyone could not have been more accommodating, kind and considerate. We made sure to wander outside when the crying started and my meal was swiftly taken back to the kitchen to keep warm! The food was absolutely wonderful, my partner and I are vegans and the options for us were so tasty and different from anything we’d had before, mushroom samosas for the main. I wanted to leave a review to thank the owners for being so kind to us with our little one and for making sure we were able to enjoy the family celebration : ."

"Visited the cafe twice on a recent holiday, once on a beach day and the other at one of their pizza and music nights. Both were great experiences with friendly and helpful staff, great food, atmosphere and a shop full of many tempting things to buy! A great place to visit and up there with one of my favourites in Cornwall."

"Staying at parkdean Sea Acres Parkdean this is one of the closest chipshops satnav says 12 min drive and was still hot when we got back to the site we had some nice fish and chips curry sauce and some thing are not on menu like spam fritter which was about half thickness of a chippy I goto in Newquay which charges 25p more but other than that is well worth a visit if chippy is what you want Service: Take out Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £10–20 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes: Chips, Sausage, Cod"

"From the moment you walk through the door, this is a different restaurant. Everyone has the same (fantastic) meal, but its for a reason. They received a green Michelin star, because they are eliminating the waste that some many restaurants leave in the bin. They...are able to plan more accurately and put the effort into creating a truly memorable meal. Local sourcing and a walled garden on the estate means that they are able to reduce the environmental impact of the food you are eating. And what a meal! With more concentration on creating the dishes and how they work together, it is just an outstanding meal. I have had many tasting menus, which often left me feeling overly full. The New Yard was just perfect. We couldn't believe how quickly the time flew. I hope that they receive two or even three Green Michelin stars and it was the equal of the food of any red Michelin star restaurants."
