"Normally when we eat out we head east to St Andrews or Dundee or remain in Cupar. On the recommendation of others we headed east with friends to the Kettlebridge Inn Italian Restaurant and what a little find it was. The warmth of the welcome added so much to our enjoyment of the evening. The menu is extensive and there were several interesting special on offer. The restaurant was fully booked and throughout the evening there was a wonderful atmosphere in the restaurant and the adjacent bar. All four of us selected well for our three courses. I enjoyed an amazing seafood risotto and tasty starter and dessert. The hard working staff looked after us well and the final bill added an extra smile to our faces great value for money. We now have another excellent eating place within reach of Cupar."

"Our experience at the restaurant was good, but it was slightly spoiled by a family with two young children who were loud, walking around, and not well disciplined by their parents. We had chosen to dine here instead of going to the local Wetherspoons in order to celebrate my wife's birthday in a peaceful setting. Despite mentioning my wife's birthday when booking the table, it was unfortunately not acknowledged during our visit."

"FOOD. Went early afternoon to book table on sun 15 Oct the staff did not say there was no fish! Just showed menu got there about 5.20 most wanted fish but told none anyway was very hungry as did not eat as looking forward to eating there as I stay in area so ordered 2 pizza 1 vegan burger and normal 1.A mac& cheese and chicken meal. Maybe bad day as chief was leaving but can't say. food was very poor did say but was happy to take my £100. I did put a complete in after but they did not write back about problems like they did not care. I don't go out much but burgers dry Mac was over cooked a no taste pizza well what can I say just dry Dough and over cooked chicken but my 2 beers very good!"

"Stayed the one night at Gilvenbank Hotel, Glenrothes. Room was small, mould on bathroom ceiling, rather dated. This would have been a nice room 20 years ago but it looks tired, no attempts at upkeep whatsoever. Shelf about clothing rail looked as though someone had started to paint it white but didn’t complete it. Door was hard to open due to thick carpet. Beds were so uncomfortable, springy and just not pleasant to sleep in. 3 star scottish tourist board award outside… this is definitely dated! Breakfast service between 9 10, staff were moving tables and chairs at 9.40 9.45 ish. This was really off putting, it is only a 1 hour slot for breakfast, this really could have waited until after 10am when breakfast service was finished. For what i paid for the room online booker) £70 it really wasn’t worth it, maybe £40 and that’s me being fair. To the manager look at the small details, the chair behind reception the chair arms have black tape this doesn’t look good. Milk for breakfast, keep it chilled with ice or something it was just on the counter top. Check room 12 out, see what you think of the bed, put on the shower,is the shower head well supported?. Look around the bathroom, do you see the mould? Just small things that could be improved for the better."

"Stayed at the Gilvenbank this weekend as we were attending a wedding at Balbarnie House. The hotel is lovely but the rooms were very basic. The pillows were paper thin, the curtains were so thin the light shone through and the bathroom was dangerous. I stood in the bath to have a shower and within seconds was on the floor of it as the non slip stuff on the bottom of the bath was non existent and clearly hadnt been cleaned properly. I ended up attending the wedding with a huge bruise on my arm and limping as I 've got a huge black bruise on my bottom and leg. I spoke to reception and I 've emailed the hotel manager and not heard a thing back. Reception said they couldn 't do anything as we paid before we arrived and the manager wasn 't in at the time. Our other friends rooms had marks on the walls, tvs that were smaller than your phones and didn 't work and beds that they had to push together themselves and the rooms were so dark they had to have their lights on all the time. On the Saturday night the reception staff told us there was a party that would be finishing at 11. This party was still going at midnight with guests standing outside shouting until 12.45 am. The patio doors in our room didn 't shut properly so we could hear everything. It was like they were in our room and the music thunder through the floors of the room to the point we could sing along. When we rang down to complain were just told it 'll wrap up soon . The bar staff were lovely, the food was nice, the location was perfect for our visit and the staff did get us more pillows and an iron when we asked for them. Just found it disappointing that I reported I 'd been hurt in their hotel and it was shrugged off and that we couldn 't sleep because of the party that finished nearly 2 hours after they told us Would stay there again if ever in the area as it was clean and these things could be easily resolved."
