The Gate Islington - Speisekarte

Really great lunch here in this lovely dining room. Tasty vegetarian menu that is a cut above most London restaurants. They have an extensive bar too. We’ll try dinner here next time : yes we are definitely coming back.

first went here about years ago after he was veggie for a year and it opened my eyes for vegetarian. kitchen. since, I was several times and was very happy with it. I chose my non-veg parents who are hard to please and they loved it!

I went here to my birthday and enjoyed the meal, the house white wine was beautiful. I would say his a bit on the expensive side, unfortunately I didn't feel very good after eating here and went online to check the hygienic review that only one of them have explained.

Amazing desserts with plenty vegan options now thankfully. Personally I find the starters and sides almost more appealing than mains. The beetroot burger was tasty and my friend loved the potato cake dish. Can take a little while and it’s worth bringing time to enjoy more than one course.

Excellent food in a lovely relaxed and spacious restaurant setting. The staff are all lovely and each dish is presented beautifully. It’s not the cheapest place, but it’s not a cafe this is a proper restaurant, which makes a nice change from the usual veggie places. Have been several times because it’s just so good!

Dear staff, Thank you to all the staff and cooks for providing amazing food, the roasted cauliflower with pomegranates with lovely dressing. Main meal was also great, Vegan Corden bleu, great combination of flavours. Chunky Herb Polenta Chips, and sauce, next level tastes. Thanks Danny, and the other two lady’s working the floor, sorry about forgetting your names, really nice and helpful. Thank you, Be back soon.

My wife and I went there 16/2/23. The food and service were absolutely superb. The waiting staff were very attentive (as soon as you glanced up they were there) but not at all intrusive. The food was amazing highlights of our meal were the Crispy Courgette Flower, the Miso Glazed Aubergine, the Wild Mushroom Risotto Cake (really, really great, earthy mushrooms), the Aubergine Schnitzel and the Cannoli. Couldn't fault any of it. We'll definitely be returning soon.

was already before the tor marylebone and liked it a lot (expect for the gloomy that are super unhealthy and simply terrible). this time we decided to try islington. unfortunately the experience was quite different. Currently, the whole menu is vegan (for veganuary), which I deeply appreciate. but all we have ordered was either super simple (e.g. the redolo) or over sugar (e.g. the aubergine)! very disappointed, not to have consistent quality! I've read many critikens who notice the same. obviously are not all chefs of the same quality

I’ve been lucky enough to visit each Gate in London at least once and the one in Angel certainly stands out as my favourite. The space is bright and airy, with by far the best acoustics of each of the venues. The menu is always fantastic with plenty of vegan options in fact on this visit there was only one OLV option! The only thing that let them down this time around was some less than enthusiastic service. We went on a weekday lunchtime and it was quiet and yet still managed to be rather slow, and both waiters we had seemed as though they would rather be elsewhere! The Gate works as a fantastic venue for both casual and formal occasions and I will continue to go back for years to come!
