The George - Speisekarte

Popped in for lunch around 12 on a Friday. Quite busy, but served very quickly. Very friendly staff and food was very nice and great value.

Part of the Wetherspoon group they serve breakfast until 11.30 amso I had a late American breakfast. Great service, good food and really nice staff

I had a delicious vegetarian full English breakfast and my 2 fellow diners had the meat version. The portions were a good size and the waiting staff were happy to fetch us accompanying condiments. Good value in a lovely setting. Speisekarte ansehen

Our group of five spent over £200 on a fishing trip at this restaurant, but were asked to leave because we were too drunk. We all ordered food and spoke with a northern accent. We only had two pints and dinner before being asked to leave. The management was terrible.

The breakfast was delicious and the unlimited coffee was perfect on a chilly, rainy morning. The staff was very polite and promptly brought our cups to us after we placed our online order, ensuring we got our coffees in time for breakfast. Couldn't find a single fault.

In recent years, the George has been disappointing in terms of food quality, service, and cleanliness. I am not sure if there has been a change in management, but after visiting for lunch last week and dinner this week, I was pleased to see that the food and service were excellent, just like it was before the COVID-19 pandemic. I am not sure what caused this improvement, but I hope it continues. Speisekarte ansehen

dirty place, smells bad, dirty tables and rude staff . you complain or try notify of them of a issue the manager just barks at your saying they worked in hospitality for decades they know what they are doing ! Food is **** and microwaved to hell but its a wetherspoons im not expecting the ritz but a clean table and pleasant service dont cost much bar staff are clueless , asked for a guiness and they looked confused why it wasnt working , didnt let it settle ! toilets are dirty and not been maintained , a few are out of order and need a good deep clean wouldnt go back in a hurry

I had occasion to stop at the George Hotel in Whittlesey, near Peterborough for something to eat around lunchtime The pub is part of the Wetherspoon Chain I assumed the standards and service would match those I had enjoyed before Surrounded by signs of what they could not do rather than what they could Table heaving with dirty dishes and glasses and customers adding to it as they sat at dirty tables Staff running around like headless chickens Bar staff curt with customers trying to order at the bar food and drinks. No apologies for the long wait to be served. All round hellish won’t be eating or drinking at the George anytime soon

Lost for words the only words I have aren't very complementary The table ordering ap has been cancelled due to no staff so I stood for 20 mins to get service at the bar due to staff issues and when I finally to the bar we found everything we wanted to order was unavailable. So we had to order something else (not the end of the world) we also ordered drinks but quickly found out that the gas had gone so all soft drinks came back flat. We started to look at the table which was a mistake As my shirt had stuck to the table it looks like it hadn't been cleaned since Christmas!!!!!! 1 hour in and still awaiting our food even the large amount of flys are hungry as the have sod l to eat!!!
