"Just had a take away ordered for 8 and collected spot on time. Should have realised when restaurant was totally empty and no staff there,in addition food was there boxed and ready. Good you may say however it was lukewarm and I had the feeling it had been awaiting my arrival for a while. The sea bass was overcooked by a mile and my trio was not as expected but that may be just me? The best thing as my wife ever the practical one,said the boxes were great and we can use them at home!"

"We made a last-minute visit to Ye Olde Dun Cow. We were served by Becky (I think that was her name). She was very welcoming and attentive. We were seated promptly and well taken care of. The food (I had the fish and chips) was delicious. The atmosphere was really nice and relaxing. My godmother forgot her scarf and Becky brought it to me before we left. I also enjoyed the lovely decor, especially the bird ornaments (I joked that they shouldn't sell them unless it's to me). Overall, it was a wonderful evening out thanks to everyone at Ye Olde Dun Cow."

"Had a drive out tonight as the sun was shinning, had a few beers and ended up here at the coach and horses, which was the only pub that was doing food, and that was only due to the lovely Rose who agreed to keep the kitchen open for us. My wife started with the brocholi and stilton soup with hot baguette and it was lovely We both had the bangers and mash with peas gravy and crispy onions which was superb And my wife had the apple pie and custard to finish. It isn't ALL about the food and beer when you travel 15 miles for a night out, it is also about the welcome you get from the locals and the publicans, and i must say this is one of our favourite destinations. And every pub we went in to tonight made us feel at home, and none more than here at the Coach and Horses, which even has some fantastic music playing in the background So thank you for a lovely meal, and a lovely welcome. and thank you for selling us some of your lovely home made pies to take home with us, and making us feel like nothing was too much trouble see you again soon guys and good luck"

"We went to the Crown for a hearty evening meal after exploring a local national trust property on a slightly wet afternoon... It was fairly quiet in the restaurant on a week night, although the bar was busy with the locals after football practice! The welcome was warm and the food delicious, well presented and well priced. The service was attentive, informal and not over-bearing! I can recommend the Beef and Mushroom Stroganoff and the Lamb in Mint Gravy (which we tried)."
