The Golden Fleece - Speisekarte

The "Fleece," as it is known locally, is the best situated pub in Wells-next-the-Sea. It is right on the quay front with fantastic views over the harbor and salt marshes.

I ate here. ordered a few pints and couple golden fleece burger. eat well, beer good, inexpensive and very attentive staff and fast service. can't mistake it and dog friendly

The restaurant offers beautiful waterfront views, a friendly greeting, and delicious pub food. We chose to sit in the bar area next to the window, which offered a bit of a chill due to the cold and windy weather.

after a morning on the beach we beat up for lunch and enjoyed a family dinner. all our foods were cooked for perfection and served with a smile. the prospects about the kai are always an additional bonus! always a pleasure we will be back.

This pub manages to balance a traditional pub “feel” with good food. The staff are excellent, friendly and always try to help. I had the mixed sea food platter followed by the chocolate tofu mousse. Very well presented and tasty. They manage to balance high...food standards with an unfussy approach.

on warm good Friday entered a busy well. wondered by the pub randomly and was happy, the time availability of one of the tables from the back. it was popular enough that they had to wait, but we had luck. a beautiful sunfall that had provided table service. good food and beer. friendly service. many dogs. a nice visit.

There’s a couple of negative remarks regarding the staff on here. I don’t get it. They’re a young crew, all smiles, good banter and couldn’t do enough for us! Squid was aces, they even sorted out a chilli dip, no bother! Chicken Katsu, spot on!...Sea Bass was gorgeous (according to the boss) and great coffee! Top marks all around!

We ate here once and visited for a drink a couple of times on our recent stay. The staff were very welcoming especially for our dog Jasper and brought him some treats when we arrived at our table. The mussels I had were absolutely amazing,...as was the steak. With a few Black Shuck gins throughout, it was a great evening! We’ll definitely return.

had a few very good drinks, very courteous and friendly staff and bar delicate excellent view of the harbour. we really enjoyed some evenings here at our visit, and we will certainly be back. the only thing we left was eating that was all. but nothing special for the price. my steak was a bit tough/empty and could have come with a soak instead of paying. the Katsu-Curry was also ok, but we had better in other restaurants. overall will be back here for drinks, hopefully soon!
