A lovely evening with excellent food, warm and friendly service and a peaceful atmosphere. I would certainly recommend it to others.

A very warm welcome from sarah who we have known for over 10 yrs. Excellent food and service and very good value. We may have lost the Duck at stanhoe but the extra 25 mins drive is well worth it for the welcome and food.

I went to this restaurant with some friends for dinner. The location was beautiful and we received a warm welcome. The menu had excellent choices. The service was outstanding and the food was delicious! I highly recommend this place! Speisekarte ansehen

Great Sunday lunch. My partner had two starters from the bar menu and the roast beef, which he declared to be excellent. I had a goats cheese and beetroot salad to start followed by scampi. The portions were generous. Lovely friendly service. In comparison to some other local restaurants this was well priced.

We visited whilst on holiday in the area. We were greeted by very friendly staff. Although the restaurant was busy, being a Saturday evening, we were not rushed and enjoyed a leisurely meal. My friend is coeliac and the menu offered her lots of choice. The food was delicious, the service was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening.

We all had different meals all good service was great just a shame not just here but most pubs don't seem to be able to make roast potatoes and crispy Yorkshire pudding and a bit sparing with the gravy, maybe the time we went accounted for the potatoes perhaps left over from lunch and recooked sorry that doesnt work, my husband said his were chewy and did t eat them apart from that we enjoyed the evening Speisekarte ansehen

Visited with friends. Good car parking, friendly staff and pleasant decor. I had pork belly which came with a small amount of savoy cabbage, red cabbage and broccoli. The mashed potato and the veg were not as hot as I would have liked. I then had creme brulee which was lovely and came with two homemade biscuits. This came to £28 which I did think was pricey. I would not pay that on a regular basis so I would probably not go there again.

Ordered two meals at lunchtime today. Burger was pretty good but nothing special. I chose the belly pork flatbread which was £18. Quite expensive but I thought a relatively healthy option. Unfortunately when it arrived. It was two massive lumps of dry meat very chewy and certainly not like slow roasted, soft pork. I wouldn’t have been surprised if it was reheated. The flatbread was basically stale and was like eating cardboard. It was difficult to cut and was as hard as rock. We sent it back and I ordered the halloumi burger instead. This was okay but nothing to write home about. They did give us the halloumi burger half price but I’m afraid we couldn’t recommend.

Just had a family lunch at The Hunworth Bell , I don't leave many reviews but this visit today warrants praise. The surroundings in the restaurant were very pleasant and informal, the staff were very welcoming, the man behind the bar was sincere and did everything right, he described the specials, offered table water, then took our drinks and food order, a credit too his employer, service with a smile but not over the top, the food was well presented portions were ample, warm and tasty. I had Bangers and mash with veg it was perfect, i would definitely recommend this pub for atmosphere, friendly staff and quality of food, the pricing was not cheap but nor was it expensive, its true in this c...
