"excellent meal at the five bells last night. high points were delicious British asparagus served with white beans hummus, hazelnuts and early bevel pesto followed by smoked lenders of dartmoor lamb with flammnessel gnocchi. only raised. a lemon posset with beautifully sharp berry-comonies and charling little button-shaped short brotbiscuits and a chocolate torte with caramel marscapone and a prline ice cream just over finish us! stunning montepulciano wein. great service of james and his colleagues. chic decoration sensitive to the old building and subtle relaxing music made for a beautiful, refined evening. we recommend our holiday homes and glamping space halsbeer farm and blackdown yurts just 20 minutes from this fantastic pub/restaurant."

"We ordered chicken biriyani. Which was not even biriyani it was more like chicken pulave and it was so trash no flavour at all and the portion was also small. I have been in India so I know what is Indian food. Then we ordered nan it was more like tandoori roti. I don't think they know Indian food. Then we ordered butter chicken (I ate butter chicken from lots of different restaurants in india) they don't know the first thing about butter chicken it is mainly made out of cashew nut and the butter chicken they gave didn't have cashew nuts and normally butter chicken is not sweet but the butter chicken they gave me was sweet. Personally I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anybody. The worst Indian restaurant I have been to. Very expensive for such trash food."

"As first-time visitors, we were impressed by the relaxed and cozy atmosphere of this restaurant. The venue is larger than it appears from the outside, with a charming dining room in the rear that features a cozy fireplace for colder days. I ordered a jacket potato with crunchy coleslaw, roasted vegetables, and blue cheese, and I was pleasantly surprised by how well it was cooked and presented. I paired my meal with a glass of merlot and thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. This restaurant truly delivers value for money, and I highly recommend it to others."

"Great local pub, serving traditional pub food, quality ingredients, and well presented/served. The staff are all really nice and attentive, service is quick with no fuss. My only issue was the desert menu! I wanted every single one and could only choose 2 (the Mrs wouldn't let me have 1 of each) I'll just have to keep going so I can try every one! "I did sent the Chinese a email as thought it was decent to see if they wished to comment back on my review but have heard nothing back. Tonight we ordered about £40 worth of food, which was 2 main dishes a rice and a noodle, and 2 sides. I’ve been to other Chinese’s which were a lot better and were at least £10-£15 cheaper. This one was really disappointing. I had the kung po chicken, special rice and seaweed out of the order and the chicken dish was so salty it was all I could taste and so had no more than 1-2 mouthfuls. My partner had the duck in black bean sauce and again it was overly salty this too was barely touched after the first mouthful. The rice, and noodles were fine. As a result we hardly touched our food and after paying out close to £40 I feel really dissatisfied. I have had a takeaway from here before and it was fine and I see this as a one off but this doesn’t take away the feeling of being out of pocket for something I feel was unsatisfactory. I know everywhere has to increase prices but just would expect something at least slightly worth my money. Unfortunately will not be returning"
