"Went here for lunch. First thing that hit me as we walked in was the smell of bleach -a bit like a swimming pool . It's nice to know that the place is kept clean but a bit off putting when having a meal. My overwhelming impression was of a place that looks a bit tired and not very cosy and inviting. The carpet looked faded, the menus were slightly grubby and nobody greeted us as we came in the door. As a vegetarian I didn't feel very inspired by the menu as the only options I could see were sandwiches or baked potatoes. I opted for a baked potato which was very nice but it would have been good if there had been some options for vegans or veggies amongst the main meals. On the plus side the lady who served us was very friendly and it's nice to see a local pub still thriving a Claygate."

The proper pub in Claygate! The village would be lost without it. The other pubs in the village need to up their game.

This pub, run by a family, offers fantastic food, a cozy atmosphere, comfortable indoor and outdoor seating, and most importantly, perfectly poured Guinness brought all the way from St. James Dublin.

This pub is not on the main street in Claygate but it was very popular. It was also well maintained with lovely flower posies on the tables. The menu was varied with reasonable prices too. There is a large amouont of outdoor seating. Speisekarte ansehen

Visited for lunch with my mum today. Pleasantly surprised by a FULL menu and all items available to order. Social distancing measures in place with friendly service and tasty starters. Outside area extremely comfy and well kept. Will definitely be back.

This lovely local is so close to my son’s I had to pay it a visit. Saloon bar very comfortable, staff attentive locals very friendly. Great place to get involves and watch sports on TV, traditional English Local, wonderful. Prices very reasonable, food offered but didn’t indulge. If you have a Dog, bring it along, very Dog Friendly.

My friends and I were in the area and decided to revisit the Griffin, a restaurant we had tried before. During our last visit, we dined outside on a warm sunny day, but on this occasion, we opted to sit inside due to heavy rain. The food and drinks were delicious, and the staff made us feel very welcome. Despite the restaurant not being very busy, possibly due to its location in a residential area rather than on a main road, we had a great experience and plan to return the next time we are in Claygate. I went to this restaurant one evening and we were seated outside in a great space. There were plenty of tables out front next to the road, and in the back there was another garden area with a children's play area and a couple of picnic tables. We ordered our food at the bar and all the cutlery and condiments were brought to our table outside. When the food was ready, it was brought out to us as well. The meals were delicious and served hot, and they were reasonably priced. The staff was friendly and helpful.

A really cute little pub tucked away in a side road in Claygate, had I not gone there with someone I would never have known it existed. They had a band playing that night in the car park, sounds strange I know but it worked. The pub was really busy and all the seating at the front of the pub was taken but there was extra seating in the car park as the band where playing so we found somewhere to perch. Service at the bar was quick and the staff where very friendly. A little pub with a big atmosphere.
