The Legstraps - Speisekarte

We enjoyed the meal and our Waitress was knowledgeable on the menu offered. Service was on time and we did not feel rushed. Ambiance was relaxing.

Had to compliment the chef, we decided on the Lamp, it was presented beautifully, and incredibly it tasted even better than it looked, amazing dish, well done Chef !!!

Warm welcome, good selection of spirits and well stocked bar for drinks on arrival. Food was excellent and beautifully presented. Would recommend the restaurant and look forward to returning

Fabulous food, service and ambience, Legstraps never lets me down (I've eaten there several times). Would thoroughly recommend. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, and you are well looked after throughout the entire meal.

It was OK. Sort of 4/10. Service mediocre but better than the food. Didnt warrant a complaint but was close. Given other reviews on here, it was disappointing. Wouldn't return and wouldn't recommend. Far better pub-restaurants out there.

Excellent all round. The service was good, the staff were friendly and helpful. Our sandwiches were very tasty and a good size with plenty of filling. However, the chips stole the show, truly superb. Crispy on the outside and so soft on the inside. Honestly, some of, if not the best chips I have had(after my Nans, but none come close to hers). Great lunch all round.

Expensive for what you get. The food was very good but the prices were high, £20+ for most main courses and £9 for desserts. My main course was very tasty but not enough on the plate. We always compare the price of fish and chips across places we go to and at the Legstraps it is £19.50, more than anywhere else we have seen locally. £9 for a crumble also seems very expensive. It is a pub with food not a fine dinning restaurant so quite casual and with people walking through to the garden.

Right where do I start… I must say the 5 roasts we had were lovely, meat was perfectly cooked. However one of us ordered the gnocchi was far from adequate! It was more of a starter than anything! Which consisted of about 8 pieces of gnocchi! (This was charged at £17) (which is a joke) Also as we disputed the price of the bill, they thought that knocking off £4 was justifiable. A massive shame because the food we did have ‘however small the portions were’ were lovely and flavoursome. Services and small attention to detail has really let it down!

This pub is almost half way between us and a friend so we each drove for an hour or so to meet and have what was meant to be a special lunch on my birthday. Neither of us had been there before, but the set lunch menu looked very appetising. However, when we arrived (at 12.30 on a Thursday), we were told the set lunch wasn't available. No mention of that on the website, and as I had booked online, they had my contact details and could easily have let me know if it was just a one-off. It was too late by then to go anywhere else, especially as we weren't familiar with the area, so we settled for burgers and chips. Nice ones, and well cooked, but not what I would have chosen for a birthday meal!
