"I feel as though the positive reviews on service must be false… such a shame to have to avoid the only pub in the village for fear of being verbally accosted from the moment you walk in. The landlady is just incomprehensibly rude, dismissive and just plain unpleasant… to everyone?! It’s like an airport, when it’s your only choice, you sometimes have to go there. Although I do AVOID this place at all costs. You are fairly safe if you just get a drink and find yourself a corner, but even then… and god forbid you ask a simple question, want to order food, want to book a table, turn up for your reservation (on time! , want some sugar for your coffee… READ THE REVIEWS, it’s all true… if you want an insane experience (a real life Karen’s Diner…? then feel free to try it out. If you want a nice evening out, afternoon drink… avoid!"

"We visited this restaurant for a family breakfast on Sunday morning, and it was fantastic! The food was amazing, featuring locally sourced ingredients, with delicious eggs, sausage, and bacon. The coffee was great as well—I really can’t tolerate bad coffee! The service was impeccable; the staff working that morning were friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was wonderful, and we’ve always enjoyed this pub. We definitely plan on coming back for breakfast again—it was delicious!"

"simply came back from the camping to the masons arms and can recommend it. beautiful small, friendly side with everything they need and more. Pub foods were delicious and exactly what we needed after long days in the open day, at which cooking for 3 adults and 5 children became a chore and nothing too much to ask from the owners - we even borrowed an ice-cream for our wine, which will stagger all day in the tent. the children were the real fish and not fish fingers in beerbatter and watch the dogs the agility course. only very small lower side was the trainee chariot, which was crooked before the appearance of the sun, but then you are a camping so that they want to put in after 6 o'clock anyway. thanks for a great time. we're back to the finals."

"Firstly what lovely staff. So helpful, welcoming and friendly. We chose this pub, due to the TripAdvisor rating, being dog friendly and thst it looked lovely on the outside. A traditional country pub and we hoped for great food too! However... They were terribly understaffed to cope with the amount of people there. We could hear other tables questioning missing items or wait time. Which meant it felt unorganized. My main criticism was I think they are trying too hard to make the food 'posher ' crushed peas with my steak for example instead of normal peas. Although my steak was very nice, my husband 's mixed grill was expensive for what it was. With dry, overdone meats. And again an odd combination e.g. pulled pork. It is important to perfect the basics before making improvements/adjustments to a menu. It was a shame as it has such potential. Generally clean and tidy with a nice little garden outside I really want to love it here. But eating out is expensive nowadays and a luxury. You want things to be spot-on and therefore enjoyable. I think we will try it again one day in hope we could give a deserved five stars."

"Great variety of food and very good quality. A large restaurant. Only minor issue was it is fairly sparsely populated with diners in the evening I went and other reviews noted the same. Good aspect of this however is that you don't have to wait long for your meal. Maybe as word spreads it will get busier. I plan on returning. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner"
