They received a green Michelin star, because they are eliminating the waste that some many restaurants leave in the bin. They...are able to plan more accurately and put the effort into creating a truly memorable meal. Local sourcing and a walled garden on the estate means that they are able to reduce the environmental impact of the food you are eating. And what a meal! With more concentration on creating the dishes and how they work together, it is just an outstanding meal. I have had many tasting menus, which often left me feeling overly full. The New Yard was just perfect. We couldn't believe how quickly the time flew. I hope that they receive two or even three Green Michelin stars and it was the equal of the food of any red Michelin star restaurants."

friendly relaxed atmosphere they stick to their green ethos and it is clear. I have never seen such a relaxed kitchen and it shows the results.

Had a Sunday roast and every separate component in each of the starter, main and desert was exemplary, tasting fresh and full of flavour. Very reasonably priced and excellent complementary wines. Highly recommended.

We had a fabulous meal at New Yard Restaurant last night. We love what the team are doing around sustainability and minimising food waste. Service and quality perfect, couldn't recommend highly enough. Make sure you book in plenty of time!! Brilliant!

the third time to eat dinner in the nyr. the chef chef and his team are innovatiw and the dishes are delicious and especially local ingredients apart from the cheese that was somewhat strange in the opposite) excellent service that has tasting menu. a very interesting wein pairing, if necessary. we are looking forward to our next visit.

michelin has green stars good eating with a recognition of effect and the new yard gets it. Chef jeffrey robinson explains the menu, but also that a single session of fixed menus allows 30% less energy use and less hours. daily changes and the use of their kitchen garden allow the best use of their suppliers and less food waste. so they enjoy the great food in a great location without costing the earth.

We have visited the New Yard a couple of times and the food is always delicious. They also have alternatives to dairy milk for coffee and the ambience is just perfect. It is super cosy in the winter with a roaring wood burner and the...staff are very knowledgeable on the menu and are happy to help. If you are in the area I would highly recommend a quick stop off for a pizza and latte, they are unbeatable.

we had an wonderful evening out for my wife's birthday on arrival we were entertained by members of the helston town band playing chrismas carols which was very nice. the chef co-owner then introduced the evening, telling us about how the food was...sourced and prepared. the meal was excellent, as was the service the waiting staff explained each course as they served it. overall the entire dining experience was very enjoyable.
