Best British food I’ve had outside of Edinburgh since moving over three years ago!

What lovely staff they have here! We had a great night watching Premier League and eating! Everyone very helpful and friendly. Awesome

Very rude service. It was shocking how we as customers were treated after spending a lot of money we were shouted at across the bar by the barmaid

Popped in here with my brother in law after a pub crawl around Richmond. I don’t normally like young houses but this was exceptional, great foh great food will be back!

Stopped in to eat and have a few beers. Tried to order 3 different meals choices and they had none left of all 3. They had already poured the drinks, so we felt obliged to sit. We ordered fries which was a tiny serve. Not suitable for sharing FYI. Do not recommend. Speisekarte ansehen

On a recent trip to Richmond my wife Denise and I popped into The Old Ship for a quiet drink and were greeted by very friendly staff who we got chatting to. We looked at the menu and decided to have lunch. The food was excellent, as was the service, so much so we returned the following day for drinks and lunch. Thank you to Gavin and the rest of the staff. Can thoroughly recommend The Old Ship.

Food is what you'd expect in a good quality pub. The best seats in my opinion are on the first floor (one above the ground floor) get ones facing down George St. if you can. My only feedback is that it's kind of a small challenge to get a full beer from the ground floor to the first floor (they do have a satellite bar upstairs that theoretically could dispense beers, but which isn't always open). The staff are very friendly and the food is great.

This is the first time we have visited this year and we have been pleasantly surprised. We started off with a crisp pint of Aspalls, clean lines and glasses. Delicious. Then we weighed up where to move to for food. Spotted the new menu and could not help ourselves but to test what we felt were the best bits. Absolutely delighted with the Drunken Prawns, Calamari with Pineapple salsa, Ham Hock Terrine, Courgette and Broad Bean, fries and a Chicken Schnitzel. Struggling to pick a favourite but if you judge it by which dishes involved us pushing each other’s fingers away, it would have to be the Calamari. There was definite finger fighting going on.
