"We popped into the Pickled Ploughman on Halloween as we were staying in Adderbury. The food, wine and service were excellent and we had a lovely experience. I had crab tart, steak and local hooky ale pie and finished with a mixed berries cheesecake. Delicious! "We dined here twice during our narrowboat trip this week. The burger we had on Saturday was fantastic, and the steak on Wednesday was excellent. As a Texan, I can confidently say that the burger might be the best I've ever eaten! When I requested a second pot of tea, I received a big one instead of another small cup. The staff can be a bit slow if you're in a hurry, but when the narrowboat arrives, the young waitstaff are very friendly and take just the right amount of time."

"Located in the heart of Deddington, this restaurant is situated in a lovely location. During a family visit, three of us dined at the restaurant and were impressed with the exceptional service and extensive breakfast menu. We tried the full English breakfast on our first morning and found it to be excellent. We also dined at the restaurant twice and enjoyed the delicious menu choices. The staff were friendly and attentive. My Mum stayed in a room with a walk-in shower, which was spacious and comfortable. However, my husband and my room was a bit disappointing. While the bed was comfortable, the room, especially the bathroom, needed updating. The bathroom was clean but very dated, with a narrow bath and a shower head that needed replacing. It would have been nice to have a variety of teas and sachets of hot chocolate available in the room. The hotel is an old, charming building that is popular with guests, but the rooms could benefit from modernization, especially the bathrooms, without losing their charm. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but I would have given it 5 stars if our room had that extra touch of luxury that I have experienced in other hotels in the same price range."

"Really disappointed with the trip advisors as much as the pub. This was our first time here so we were looking forward to it based on the recent reviews. I rang and tried to book a table for 6:00 to 6.30 and was encouraged to make it 6 as they were busy later. When we turned up we were the only people there for half an hour and then 2 other couples came in before we left at 7:25pm. We ordered the dough balls to start and the garlic butter was frozen. The menu of lots of different pies on offer from the previous tenants was still visible but not on offer. The menu was very limited unless you wanted pizza. I ordered the crown burger because the confit duck leg was unavailable. My partner ordered the chicken chasseur. The burger came out on the smallest plate I have ever seen a main course served on in a pub or restaurant and it was tiny. It was £16 and an extra £1 for the cheese and another £1.50 for the single slice of bacon. The portion of fries came in a mug size cup! The chicken chasseur sauce was see through and was extremely watery and wasn't right. It came with no veg and a similar size portion of chips to mine and that was it! £42.50 for one portion of dough balls and 2 mains. The most disappointing thing was the way that our complaint was dealt with by the manager and staff. Nothing not even an apology. We eat out every week and have only had to stop on the way home once before to get something more to eat. This was the second time!!"

"This charming coaching Inn is located in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds well situated for the city of Oxford and Bletchley Park. The food is good quality and reasonable priced. Staff are friendly attentive and efficient. who makes staying here a pleasurei. The rooms were clean but in need of refreshing/ refurbishment hence the four stars) would definitely stay again.
