"Go and enjoy a real English pub with fantastic hosts, Rosemary Chris. We went twice over Easter 2015 and enjoyed the whole experience. Chris has several real ales and good wines and the menu is extensive covering everyone in terms of taste and budget. The pub is children and dog friendly and quite unique in the way it is decorated. With large and I mean large log fires, it is homely and you feel at ease as soon as you enter. Being a free house, there is always sure to be a range of beers on tap so real ale drinkers and CAMRA members should make sure the Plough is on their list. As Arnie said we 'll be back and hopefully, sooner rather than later."

some good ales on tap, lots of space between 3 seperate drinking areas as well as a restaurant area. Apparently the damentoilets are ordained :

On Saturday, September 7th, we visited the area and decided to have dinner at The Plough. It was a fantastic evening. The food was top-notch and Chris and Rosemary went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. They are truly genuine and lovely people.

I stopped by this restaurant for lunch and had a fantastic time. The food was delicious, especially the bangers and mash which I highly recommend. The owners, Chris and Rosemary, were so lovely and down to earth. I will definitely be returning for another visit!

Had lunch and a few pints here while staying at Eaton Manor. The food was delicious and plentiful and the setting can only be described as a proper pub. The owners were helpful and had good craic. Plus it's dog friendly. If we ever go back to that neck of the woods we will definitely return.

Lovely cosy pub with lots of character, particularly liked the colour of the walls! Very friendly owners nothing too much trouble. We had delicious food, I had the stir fry, one of my friends had the curry and the other a chicken sandwich, we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We were persuaded to have a plate of chocolate treats and wow they were amazing, so much too!! Had to take it home in a doggy bag.

My family and I went to this restaurant the night before my wedding, and never once felt welcome. We ended up leaving promptly after the owner was extremely rude to my sister while taking our order. The owner complained that we hadn't made a reservation, but I had tried calling both the week and the day before with no answer. When we arrived at the empty pub on a Friday evening, it had no atmosphere whatsoever. I had seen negative reviews for this place, but wanted to support a local business. Big mistake. Do not go to The Plough.

what a beautiful little pub. home cooked eating and large portions. who cares to wait a little longer for something cooked home and delicious. beautiful owners who took the time to talk to us, what was a very busy lunchtime. limited menu to the time, but still much to choose. not a child menu as such, but many offered children friendly or happy to meet a smaller part of an adult choice. dog-friendly dining area and tasty shops that always win our labrador over. only 2 ales when we visited but decent local ales, so that was no problem.

first-class eating and service we have jumped into the plough for a drink, while on a walkway and not disappointed. a wonderful traditional pub with great character. a fire place in a room, a baby wing in another and the decor interesting. we spent a fun couple of hours with drinks and chatting with the friendly renter, chris. we had such a nice time that we came back to Sunday dinner the next day. eating was all freshly cooked and dying. I was in several michelin stared restaurants and this lunch was up there! we cannot recommend this place enough. thanks to that rosemary and chris very make our weekend. warm sweet stewart

"Beautifull hotel, I guess one can call it trendy , but I just don 't understand how they can justify the price £130/night and that most of the time will go to £160 as they run out of entry level ones. So I guess the answer is there because people pay for it! But let 's just make some relevant comparisons Birmingham Grand literally in the heart of the city, brand new, 5* hotel, with all recently decorated rooms to the highest standard is £135 15 for breakfast. Needless to say rooms are air conditioned, fully equipped and genuinelly very posh. Hotel has lifts, has porters and the service is top notch. The Lion is barelly 4* just for trendiness alone, but the actual quality of furnishing is closer to 3*, has no lift and you will be lugging your bags up and down mutiple flights of stairs (and I mean multiple like 8 going up and down) trought narrow corridors to mediocre room (nothing wrong with it just mediocre) which isn 't even air conditioned. Sorry, I just don 't get it. That said restaurant is good fully fine dining if you are into it. Althought in my oppinion it doesn 't fit into the rest of the hotel. So it is ~3.5* hotel which is very youghtfull and trendy and then you get 5* fine dining with very tiny portions for the dinner (which is not criticism of restaurant, it is very good on it 's own). In conclussion I just don 't get what niche this hotel is filling, who stays there and why. The price for the rooms should be £75 95 tops. Shreesbury is not exactly prime tourists destination either (at least shouldn 't). But it seems it is working out for them, I just would not recommend it, I would not stay in it again and it is definatelly not worth the price. Neither in isolation, nor in comparison."
