"It's a bit worrying when you walk into a pub for lunch and the staff kind of ignore you. The manager could see we were waiting and came over and took us to a couple of reserved tables. He seemed to want us to sit next to another couple, with about a foot between the tables. We didn't and sat at the table next to that. It wasn't busy for a sunday and it was odd that he did that but whatever. Logistics? Anyway nice young woman came and took our drinks orders and was very pleasant if a bit flustered. Ordered starters and the porchetta. It's a lovely Victorian pub and we had a nice natter before the padron peppers and bao crispy beef turned up. Both were really nice, and well cooked. Then things went a bit pear shaped. Firstly my roast arrived but not my partner's as the waitress admitted she had forgotten to order it, just having asked for one main. She offered a comp dessert and was super apologetic. Mistakes happen so we were all fine with that but not so much with the porchetta. Expecting pork wrapped around a herb stuffing instead I had cremated meat next to a weird disc of paxo. The meat was so overcooked three hours later I could still taste the it and not in a good way. How the kitchen had thought it ok to send this out was beyond me. Yorkshire was also charred and the potatoes were pretty ****. I asked for more gravy and got a jug of what tasted like stock, it was so salty to be inedible. When my partner's food arrived she was already off put by the state of my plate and was massively unimpressed. Her yorkie arrived, burnt a few minutes later. We ate here a few months back and it was superb despite it being super busy, yesterday it was half empty and so not sure what was happening, there were two chefs in the kitchen and only maybe 10 tables. We complained to the manager without making a rumpus and pretty much said the above. He comped the mains without any argument which was good of him but he could see how bad it was just looking at the plates. Shame because this is a decent pub."

The Queens may not be perfect but it is still a superior pub. I have every intention of returning. The Queens get four stars for atmosphere, four stars...

LOVE this pub. Apart from their ales and cosy local setting go for their fish and chips (and mushy peas) for a really very good feed. Beer garden out back...

Nice Pub right on the edge of Primrose Hill park. Welcoming bar, with a nice ambience. Dogs friendly with lots of dog bowls and free dog treats. We didn’t eat but enjoyed a nice pint of Camden Hells.

Me and my husband came into the Queens to grab a bite of dinner. The staff were so welcoming and friendly and the food was AMAZING! My husband had the Fillet steak sandwich and I had the crab and king prawn linguine, both exceeded our expectations. Also, a great selection of drinks for drinkers and non-drinkers alike. The real star of the show was definitely the staff though. Well done Queens crew, 5*

12.5% service charge automatically added to the bill staff are little off hand as they don’t need to try in order to receive a tip. Tips should be discretionary and staff should ‘earn’ them. Food ok but nothing special pasta slightly under cooked and the steak burger was made with onions which overshadowed the flavour of everything else. We could hear the kitchen staff from our table who were swearing at one another. The best part was the building itself lovely. We’ll be giving this one a miss.

The Queens' Sunday menu had been recommended to me. I checked the menu: it said the sirloin of beef is served pink. It wasn't; it was brown. More to the point, it was too tough to eat (and I've got all my teeth! and fairly tasteless. The carrots were OK. The green veg was somewhat overcooked. Since I was lunching with someone I don't know that well, I let it be. She ate maybe half of her porchetta. However, I was surprised that my uneaten meal was removed without a query about why it was practically untouched. The coffee was good.

We were 3 friends who had one main course. Each one was different. The steak burger was one of the tastiest burgers I have eaten for some time. The chips skin on were good. My wife had haddock fishcake which she loved. However, it could have done with a side of green vegetables. The chicken milanese was also enjoyed. The Adnams broadside bitter was very good. One of us had Estrella lager. So we drank 1 and half pints each. Plus a very large glass of red wine. The bill with service was £86. The service was good, attentive and friendly. The pub itself dates for early 1900s and is rather attractive great stained glass..

Visited last night with a friend. , I ordered the vegan burger which I was told was made from mushroom and beetroot, neither which I could taste . My friend ordered the stake which he said as stake goes was nice . The massive disappointment was the chips that both meals came with . They were frozen standard chips that one could get in a local cafe ,put on the plate . Sorry but at the price we paid and the standard and reputation of the Queens I would have expected hand cut chips as you get most of the pubs in crouch end and other good pubs that do food . The only pub I would expect chips of this kind would be Wetherspoons , and if I am honest the chips in the Mosey in Muswell Hill Wetherspoo...

"my partner and I stay a week in london and have booked a lot of places to eat during our stay. this is a place we will relive on any future adventure. the menu is full of a series of Italian...Delights and my understanding of what to have was a beautiful dilemma. I had the baked flat mushroom with gorgonzola, honey and rocket to begin while my partner had a garlic pizzabrot. my was simply sensational and she was delicious (and easy enough to feed for net I had an eleanora pizza with prosciutto crudo, caramelized wobble, mascarpone and basilikum. the best handmade pizza I ever had! my partner had the tagliatelle pollo e funghi. tagliatelle with mushroom, pancetta and huh in a creamy white sauce. for a communal dish in many Italian restaurants this was a considerable cut over the rest. Of course we have ensured that there was room for dessert (if in rom and all that). it is always particularly exciting to see the cakes made all the house and there is a nice selection of authentic Italian dresses to choose. my partner went for a cheesecake served with fruit-couli, while I had decided to be adventurous and to start something new in the form of canolo siciliano. sweet ricotta wrapped in a fresh, thin baked baked pastry, served with pistachio ice cream and fresh strawberries. first was the cheesecake devine. there are no words for it, it's just fantastic. my adventurous to the unknown has also paid off as I can say that I have never dessert like the canolo. such a variety of aromen on a plate, supplemented with chocolate sauce and a lemon cure was only pure joy. every last crumb of our meal was sensational, as was the drinks as well as the wonderfully dipped and refreshing hot sprout. now is good eating a thing, good service is another. as gastfreundschaft arbeiter himself (I myself a chef and my partner in front of the house) appreciate and appreciate good service when we see it. the way the two waitresses worked effortlessly together, and with care and care and their insidious ability to press on an upsell without being overlaid was a joy in themselves. the handling with a lot of takeaway orders while they can take care of their guests may be difficult (we know) but they treated everything super and everyone had smile on the faces. overall, this was a fantastic evening in a brilliantly guided facility that is quite simply a must-visit place to dive!"
