So , we went to The Queen’s head for Sunday lunch , parking right outside, the place is very nicely decorated and comfortable and spotless clean , as a non meat eater I chose the haddock with kedgeree and it was the nicest fish dish I have ever eaten, sometimes the non meat alternative is a poor meal vegetarian sausages) but this was absolutely delicious Speisekarte ansehen

Great Sunday Lunch with Mrs B's family, 7 of us. A varied Set Menu was the choice. Mrs B started with the Tomato Soup I had the Lincolnshire Sausage Scotch Egg, we both had Lamb Roast for mains. Various different meals were ordered by the rest of the family including the 2 Vegetarians. Overall we had a great meal with all the food thoroughly enjoyed. The service was extra Special. Highly Recommended.

54th anniversary, midweek so quiet, brilliant! Great staff , friendly and very attentive. Food? Absolutely fantastic. Modern quinine on large plates which look strangely lonely but exceptionally filling (if that’s why you want) but to me exquisitely prepared and presented. A couple of small in requested attentions to MAKE the evening! Well done to all staff. Unreservedly recommend The Queens Head to anyone who wants a special but quiet, night out

Oh no! I had lunch today at a restaurant that was just okay. Eating at the wobbly Formica tables felt more like a cafeteria than a nice dining experience. The white tablecloths in the Jain restaurant were there, but they were wrinkled and worn. The service was decent, although the staff wearing fleece jackets didn't give off a good impression. This restaurant is not cheap, so they really need to improve their overall appearance. The service was friendly, but lacking in professionalism. Speisekarte ansehen

The ambiance of the restaurant was charming, but it was a bit cold inside. It was surprising to find that the restaurant was not busy at all for a Christmas lunchtime. The soup starter was tasty, but unfortunately, it was only lukewarm. Even after sending it back, it still wasn't hot enough. The turkey main dish was average and lacking in vegetables, with only 4 sprouts and 1 whole carrot. On the bright side, the chocolate dessert was delicious. The attire of the service staff was peculiar, as they were serving in fleece jackets in an a la carte restaurant.

We decided to visit after seeing a post on the Lincolnite news post. Wasn’t too sure where Kirkby la Thorpe was but we found it via their website. Arrived and sat in the lounge/ bar area. We wanted to eat in the restaurant as looked lovely. It was a game based menu (as in season,great) We both had starters and mains. Beetroot, game terrine followed by venison and casserole. Great flavours, presentation and seasonally. Overall impressions GREAT! love to come back and try the Christmas menu but may have to re visit next year, but we will. Great job chef and team. Simon

The food and service at this restaurant were incredible. I highly recommend this place. We spotted the sign and decided to stop for a bite to eat, and we are so glad we did. We received a warm welcome and could tell that everything was fresh and made from scratch. We hope to pass by again on our way home so that we can visit once more. There was a group sitting behind us who ordered the 3-course meal deal. One of them enjoyed the mushroom starter so much that he changed his dessert to another serving of the mushroom starter.
