"Alborz is a wonderful hidden gem in Levenshulme that serves a variety of Persian and Middle-Eastern food, located on Stockport Rd you could be forgiven for thinking that Alborz is as unassuming as it's humble exterior suggests. However, what lies behind those modest doors is truly fantastic restaurant both in terms of food and service. The interior is understated and tasteful, furnished with Persian vases and ornate tea sets, the tables are close together to make the most of the limited space available but this lends a refreshing communal atmosphere to your meal. The staff were friendly and attentive and more than happy to talk you through the menu and explain the various dishes. We ordered the Mezze Platter to start, this consists of four different starters, and is ideal if you're not overly familiar with Persian cuisine, the homemade hummus was a particular highlight being both fresh and tasty. We then ordered the Alborz special grill for two, which looks as wonderful as it tastes, succulent skewers of koobideh and chicken accompanied by grilled vegetables, saffron rice and a freshly baked taltoon bread which was frankly quite ridiculous in its magnificence and is so large it came supplied with its own stand. This was a true delight to eat and I can highly recommend it. After all of that, we were overloaded with food and couldn't possibly consider having dessert and so, asked for the bill, which led to true surprise of the evening, all of this wonderfully authentic and fresh food came to a grand total of £42. This reflects tremendous value in a time where a meal for two can often prove quite expensive. Overall I would say that Alborz is definitely worth visiting if you're in the area and if you're not well then it's worth making the trip for. If you're a fan of Persian food or perhaps want to try something new then you would genuinely struggle to find such a quality dining experience at this price point."

"Great little place heard alot about it and finally got to try the place. It lived up to my expectations and all the good things I had heard about the place. Well worth a visit and I will be going back. Early bird menu available too at 2 courses £10 and 3 corse I think was £15 great value and a large selection for a fixed menu"

"Pizza wasn't cooked properly the garlic bread with cheese hardly had any cheese on it, the pasta dish was horrible, absolute waste of money and the food is over priced, £4.50 for a little scoop of ice cream, never again would i go back and i would advise everyone else not to waste your time and money, 3 pizzas didn't get eaten and as for the pasta dish i tried and didn't like you said the plate came back empty that's a lie it was my wife's and you packed and it went in the bin so don't lie and say the plate came back empty when it didn't"

"food, service, atmosphere and price were all excellent! we had a mixed starter, crisp cracker, a prawn red thai curry, a beef thai red curry, sticky rice, spring onions, a chocolate brownie and chocolate orange earlyling rolls all for 50. everything was delicious! the thai curries were beautiful, fresh, fragrant and with a great kick. there were enough for two dish fillings, even to share the rice and noodles. the ananas and aubergine were a nice addition to the curries, they balanced the spicy of the curry very well. the appetizers consisted of vaulted toast, crispy spring rolls, garnish in flo pastries, Thai fish cake, crispy sommes, chickensatai and crushed cauliflower, served with 3 dipping sauces, sweet chili, lemon syrup and a ginger aroma dimmer. all have added the starters perfectly. the real tasty at the end were the chocolate orange spring rolls. they were so good! vanilleeis was delicious and very tasteful. added that they can take their own alcohol without paying cork and they are on a winner. we dined on 2 bottles asda cava and prossecco for only 10. I can't blame the place at all. 3 courses of nice eating, drinking and a great intimate atmosphere for a total of 60. we are coming back to the final!"
