We stopped at the pub with friends. The pub was busy but we were welcomed by the very friendly ladies working there.

Slow and miserable service. Sadly this is the only pub in town so I expect they are cleaning up, but please AVOID if you can.

This was my third visit. The experienced staff here are very friendly, and happy to discuss the menu or just chat generally. Prices are appropriate and not too steep. Speisekarte ansehen

This place oh my … the food was just divine. We came in ravenous and a bit ratty, having had a very busy day, early eve one Sunday few weeks ago and what an absolute treat. The food was just wonderful and we left very content. Lovely evening thank you

I visited the pub on the off chance Weds lunch. The lady told us they were full and maybe a wait for food. Although we did have to wait a while the service was fantastic. The young lady that was waitressing was so accommodating and polite, even though she was busy still found the time to give us amazing service. The food was nice however it was just a bit of a wait. I will return.

This is a delightful pub with outside seating in the quaint village of Shamley Green. We were met with a very warm welcome and well looked after by all. We were never rushed and allowed to totally enjoy our time there. The food was of a very high quality and served hot on hot plates. Our mains were great but the desserts won the medals for the day. We were so warmly welcomed on arrival and immediately felt relaxed and at home even though our last visit was several years back. Ideal meeting point with our Sussex friends. Everything was perfect, I dream about pubs like this being in every village, just so warm and friendly plus great good. The dog was also given a great welcome with her own treats. I will not leave it so long this time before returning.

We last visited this fab pub/restaurant prior to COVID it was great then and I'm delighted to say it still is! Our Saturday lunchtime visit was very relaxed no hurring here. We eventually chose our food from the great menu and it was delicious. We ate inside on a warm day, but there were many who made use of the outdoor tables (front and back). My previous visits were for Sunday lunches when booking was essential, but it was much less so on the Saturday when we visited this time. The staff were lovely and allowed us to relax. Recommended.

I’ve been to a few pubs now since reopening but my experience at the Red lion just tops them all. The food is incredible but paired with the impeccable service it just cements this as a must visit, and regular go to! I really can’t recommend it enough. Sean and his team give such a genuine and friendly welcome/ welcome back.I wanted a lighter meal so I had the starter of crab, avocado, dill and mild chilli stack. I also had some home made sourdough bread with homemade butter and it was beautiful. The outside space is looking wonderful too and they’ve clearly invested a lot of energy into making it comfortable. Some wonderful independent cask and craft on the drinks range also.
