The Rose Crown Ilkeston

Yes I would recommend the Rose and Crown but I wouldn’t recommend anyone to use Open table to book the table. The pub had no recognition of our booking and had never heard of Opentable. Thankfully they managed to accommodate ya at very short notice!

We visit this restaurant quite frequently, but during our most recent trip on a busy Sunday for lunch, we found ourselves and other patrons waiting over an hour for our meals to arrive. I hope this was just an isolated incident, as we really enjoy dining here.

Excellent food good atmosphere definitely will be returning soon. Our only negative was the table we sat at outside wasn’t very clean and had dirty glasses left from the people before on the whole time we ate our meal and our plates were not collected after we had eaten for a long time.

The food was decent, but we arrived at 7:30 and didn’t finish eating until 11:00 PM. It was extremely disappointing.

I arrived at the time my reservation was scheduled, but I was informed that there was no booking under my name and that there were no tables available. Since there was no Wi-Fi in the restaurant, I had to step outside to take a screenshot of my reservation confirmation. When I returned to show it to the staff, they said, "Oh, you booked through OpenTable, and their reservations don’t come through to our system?" Apparently, this has happened before. Despite claiming there were no tables available, they eventually found one for us. Someone really needs to address these issues.

When I returned to show them that I had indeed made a reservation, the staff said that they had booked it through OpenTable and that those reservations don’t come through in their system. It seems this isn’t the first time this has occurred. Eventually, they found a table for us, even though they initially claimed we didn't have a reservation. Someone really needs to address this issue.
