"Returned to celebrate Mother’s Day with the family in n response to the Mothers eat free offer. We had a great table in the raised area towards the rear of the restaurant. Service was excellent and the staff are courteous and friendly. We had two starters and four curries for main course with bread and rice. Each curry was well cooked and starters and accompaniments were of exceptional quality. We will return in the near future I’m sure!!"

"My 2nd visit to Billy 's for breakfast. I walked syraight past all the trendy places to eat in Cardiff bay because I knew I would get a nice 'all day breakfast ' at this business. My breakfast was actually very very nice indeed. Perfectly cooked and delivered to my table nice and hot. Spot on. Also it was nice to ask for a pot of tea and actually get a proper pot of tea! not one of those silly tiny things many places bring. The meal was fairly priced for the location but im not keen personally on the service charge as I would rather reward good service how I feel apropriate. The charge was not too bad though. Now to the not so positive stuff....... The upstairs gents toilet was unclean around the WC area and altough it may of been a scruffy recent customer the facility should be checked more ofter perhaps. The only other thing was that the main Gents toilet door felt 'tacky ' to the touch.... really not nice at all. Apart from that the staff were great and I will definately be going there again."

"My fiancé and I travelled in from London for a weekend away and were looking for a place on a Saturday night where we could have a lovely evening meal. After reserving a table a few days prior after seeing the website and reviews The Classroom had received, I was intrigued and hoped it would be a good enough evening for both of us.We had a lovely evening! The food and wine was exemplary, we could not fault the service and we stayed a little longer after eating for some cocktails which rounded off the night perfectly. And after mentioning it was a birthday celebration meal, a little extra plate of sweet nibbles was brought over with our dessert, a lovely surprise! I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough, you get really good value for money and wonderful food."

"We recently had our wedding breakfast in Romeo's. We were only a small group. The whole experience was fantastic: from the start when discussing menus, dates and times , through the menu tasting and the food on the day. The owners were very flexible and accommodating. Front of the house as well as the kitchen team performed flawless on every level. The food served during the tasting was exactly the same as what was served on our wedding day. Everything was very well seasoned, perfectly cooked and we could taste the effort which had gone into the preparation and finishing of the meals. The atmosphere was relaxed and we were made feel at home. We can 100% recommend Romoe's by the sea. We will definitely be back."

"My previous reviews of the Star have been very positive so it's with much regret that this review is not so positive. We have been visiting the Star for some months now and previously never disappointed. Unfortunately last Sunday 19th Nov we were very disappointed with our lunch.The carrots and swede were lacking in flavour and there was very little cheese on the cauliflower.The gravy was very salty and the roast potatoes were not freshly cooked and hard to cut with the knife.The Yorkshire pudding was flat like a pancake and again no flavour.Also there was no cabbage which we had on previous occasions,instead we had red cabbage which is a strange one for us as we've never had that on a sunday lunch before and definitely won't be having it again.Between the 5 of us we had Turkey and Beef and both were very nice along with a lovely mash.If I had to mark the meal out of 10 it would be a 4 just because of the mash and meat.My wife questioned if they had changed chefs but was assured it was the same chef as previous visits.Personally we were not convinced.We have had many a nice lunch during the week so shall be visiting again but definitely not for Sunday lunch.
