"Called in today for an impromptu late lunch. Staff were attentive on arrival, and very prompt but not too pushy) in taking my order. I decided on a toastie. When it arrived it was a very generous sized toastie with fries, salad and coleslaw. It was absolutely delicious. And fantastic value for money Even though they were busy the dining area was clean with no tables full of dirty pots. Staff were friendly Selina was very professional and made time to make people feel welcome. I even took a homemade cheese scone away with me to keep me going on my night shift that night. Would thoroughly recommend and will definitely be back x"

"I love the curry's at Dower House! I visited on a Thursday night recently, a small group of 3, around 18:45, there were a few tables available and it filled up towards 8pm. I booked online and it took 24 hours before they replied. So I'd say if you wanted to make sure you're booked in contact the restaurant and book . You enter through the side door and arrive at a check in desk, if nobody is there continue through and left onto the bar and they'll seat you from there. A nice pint of kingfisher We had a couple of poppadoms each and a pickle tray, it was all really fresh and the lime pickle was easily the best I've had in ages! I had Chicken Dansak for main, a nice sweet curry and some pilau rice and a garlic chapati (not on the menu but they were happy to make it it was really garlicky It all tasted great We all had a starter and a main, 1 garlic naan, 1 rice 1 chapati 2 pints 1 pint of coke and we had white coffees to finish. It came to just over £100 which I felt was reasonable for the quality and service. The place was clean and tidy and the staff were all friendly My photos didn't come out very well, I only managed the starter! Pakora photo, which tasted great. I can't wait to go back again Parking: 2 3 pounds for a few hours, card or cash at the pay machine Wheelchair accessibility: Access into the restaurant seemed ok, but please not this when you're booking. I'm not sure if there is a downstairs toilet, there may be for disabled."

"on the entry we have recommended we were vegan and went through all our available options, we have a few items that they have double checked for us and advised that they can say ', but not listed in ingredients. the food was delicious, the customer service was great and we will definitely return. the main word that I can use to describe this was extra', since everything was not the usual crabs and sauce for a vegan, it was quality."

"We are local to Bawtry so already know of the value the Crown brings to the town . That said we decided to try their breakfast yesterday and found a place on the terrace area . We were very impressed both by the food and the friendly efficient service from Amelia . She was a credit to the Crown so much so I wanted to mention her by name in this review . It’s easy to walk away and not bother offering feedback but we all (4 of us) had been impressed by her. I had the English breakfast and my wife had the Eggs Royale both were very good . I had thought it might be scary expensive but was pleasantly surprised. We had the benefit of a sunny morning but will definitely sit down again when the opportunity presents itself.
