The Smithy A77 - Speisekarte

Breakfast was ok but for small breakfast and 1 large breakfast £28 which I think was so over priced Restaurant was cold and not very inviting ,service was decent .Don't think I will rush back ,,sorry.

The food was so delicious that we couldn't finish it all. The service was exceptional and the atmosphere was lovely. We have visited this restaurant many times and would highly recommend it without any hesitation.

We popped in for a coffee and a cake and ended up having a meal… What a lovely little coffee (and more) shop! Great decor and wonderful food. It was busy when we arrived but that was no issue. First visit we both had jacket potatoes, well presented with plenty of filling inside. Salad and crisps on the side as well. Both of us had a cake, dad had fruit slice which he thoroughly enjoyed and i had a plain scone which was lovely and fresh. Second visit i had macaroni cheese and dad had a different jacket potato. Both meals fresh and enjoyable.

Been here many times but latest visit was disappointing. The prices had shot up and felt that £9 for a baked potato or a toastie was alot for what it was and the menu very limited tho a good range of cakes. My baked potato was cold and the toastie had very little side salad or crisps but we had waited a while so I didnt send it back as had no time to wait. Previous visits had been more positive.

Lovely wee place for lunch and the young members of staff were so pleasant and helpful, but the older lady with the silver hair who took the orders OMG she needs customer service training …. Not welcoming at all, she glowered at everyone that came through the door, and it did seem like she served who she wanted first and not in the correct order, probably her regulars, wouldn’t visit again as didn’t feel welcome at all. My family and I had breakfast at this restaurant on our last day in the area. We regret not coming here earlier in the week because the French toast with maple syrup was the best we've ever had. Some of us had it with bacon, while others had it without, but we all agreed it was delicious. The coffee was great and the cakes and scones looked fabulous. We wished we had discovered this place sooner and would have visited every day if we had known how good it was.

I met up with a few friends for lunch at this restaurant, choosing it for its central location. Unfortunately, upon entering, we were not greeted with a warm reception or a smile. Our lunch orders were taken without much enthusiasm, and we felt like we were inconveniencing the staff. My sandwich was nothing special, just a basic one without any extra flair. It came with a side of coleslaw and tortilla chips, all for the pricey cost of £8.95. We received no further interaction from the staff, and no one asked if our food was satisfactory. One of my friends couldn't even eat her panini because the chicken was off. We sat with dirty plates on our table for the entire duration of our visit. When...

Have been at The Smithy once before and it was very good and that is why we returned today. But today it was awful. My daughter got a baked potato which was hard and uncooked and I asked for a cheese and pickle toastie but they didn’t do pickle and had to take mango chutney. I could have made a better toasties at home. The toastie came with a teaspoon of coleslaw and dorito type crisp which were stale. This cost me £8.95 (OMG) and the baked potato which was changed but still dreadful was £10 with a dessert spoon of cheese and a small portion of coleslaw.
