"I came to angles to see south stack lighthouse and spent the night in holyhead before I catched the ferry to dublin the next day. it was incredibly windy, but sunny in the evening when I was looking for dinner in the city. I have starved! I saw the stanley arms and on the side of the building there said something like great food I wasn't sure how good that could actually be in the pub, but decided to give it a shot. it was great! I have the hushpuppy appetizer and a steak with pommes. it was all phenomenal. in the did, I am hungry, as I enter this review! as well, I strongly recommend this place!"

Friendly staff, good beer, large beer garden at rear, dog friendly but only in rear beer garden, so you have to leave your dog in the garden while getting a drink.

in holyhead we found that there were not many places to eat. we found the stanley after looking at the net and I, I am glad that we had the lasagne that was full of flesh and excellent. I had a burger who was wonderful.

had to sit outside because of the dog, but not too, as all ashtrays were full of the floor was full of fag ends as not smoker it was really smelling and kitchen fans were really loaded we were not allowed to go inside. dog because of the food served explains that the so-called beer garden was disgusting and nit a nice place to sit in we were told by bar staff they could do what they could. Welcome to the tourist

we came in holyhead without warning where we go to lunch. we entered the stanleyarms and the pub owner was very friendly. we ordered a few drinks and decided to eat a quick bite. I was not so hungry so we ordered a cooked wrap. between us. it was absolutely delicious that we were told that the garlic mayonnaise was made home. incredible for £6! that was the greatest shock! would definitely return! great mood at the place!

Good value for money, was stopping local to Angelsey Track for work. Rooms were clean and staff were friendly. Room decor is nice and plenty of space. It wasn't an issue for me as I can sleep through most things, but to others I feel...they should be made aware that you can hear the music from the pub pretty loud in your room. I was warned when checking in that would be until 11 and again, it wasn't an issue for me. I stopped on a Friday and Saturday. Would use again

It`s been six years since we visited Holyhead and this pub. Sadly the town is looking a bit shabbier as many high streets are but the welcome and food at the pub was as good as last time. Big smiles and friendly , the girl...serving us was great. Menu is a bit different to other establishments, enough choice for anyone and reasonably priced. The burgers were delicious but too big for us to finish. We will be back when it gets a bit warmer as we just headed straight back to the train-it`s a lovely journey along the welsh coast.

"I've been to Dylans in Menai Bridge and always enjoyed it not this time. For the first half of our visit there was a stinging blue haze hanging in the air; the kitchen extractors clearly weren't functioning properly. Fortunately this cleared for the second hour we were there. Now to the service; after taking our drinks orders we waited nearly 15 minutes for them. Later, after staff had passed our empty glasses 20 times, we managed to order some second drinks by catching their attention. The food was the main problem; minuscule starters of crab and Welsh rarebit. My pizza came as a real surprise (as others have mentioned in previous reviews); gone is the thin crusted, well filled pizza of the past. The pizza is now about 20% smaller and my daughter mentioned that it looked like a child's portion. However, the main problem was the total lack of filling; there was a huge gap for at least an inch all round the pizza which was just fluffy dough. There were five tiny mussels on it and when I picked the mussel shells up they were so overcooked the shells turned to carbonised dust. I counted three tiny slices of red chilli. As others have mentioned, I realise the industry is having a hard time the price of the pizzas haven't gone up but the quantity and quality has plummeted and I would rather pay more to enjoy my meal. The pudding order came and was wrong. When the hot cross bun pudding came out it was still only on the wrong side of lukewarm. Don't get me started on the price of a pint of Aspalls £7.25, a price I would expect to pay in London. And before Lisa R replies that they would have replaced a dish, it would have been replaced with a similar disappointing dish....and no one bothered to ask us if everything was OK either during or after the meal anyway."
