"Lovely little village pub. Visiting area and walked in pub to be welcomed by a friendly face, Dave. He served my husband who was especially pleased with beer brewed on site. Our orders were taken and waitress informed us food will be a while, half an hour to be exact, we didn't mind and was glad we were told. Food arrived before half hour, piping hot and freshly cooked. Not microwaved. Between us we had spaghetti Bolognese, ham egg and chips, hunters chicken and steak peppercorn sauce. Food was delicious. We even got early bird deal even though it was Sunday. So smiles all round. We finished meal with pudding, chocolate brownie. And to make it even better kinder eggs served behind bar so had one of those for treat for daughter. A brilliant meal in a friendly local pub. Thank you for a good evening."

We have been coming here for years, as my Father did before me, so it must have had things going for it.

My partner and I have been to the Tally Ho on a number of occasions and have found the food to be of a good quality.

First time here but not the last. Delicious Sunday roast with tender meat, good choices. Plenty of veggies. Good variety. Very tasty and hot. Good value and hearty portions.

We ate here on Sunday night , only because we were staying at the George hotel and they only serve pizza Sunday evenings. We were pleasantly surprised, really good choice on the menu. All four of us had a good meal.

This is a lovely, thriving pub with a really happy atmosphere. We popped in on a busy holiday weekend and were told to expect a long wait for food, but it came quickly in the end. Despite the bustling atmosphere, the staff were all excellent....

Not our first visit, though it has been a while, and this occasion was with friends for a lunch time meal. Mid-week, so not overly busy in this fairly traditional pub that still brews its own beer, which was on offer along with a couple of others from the 'bigger south-west boys '. Good selection of dishes available for lunch, and what particularly impressed us was the number of vegetarian options. The specials board was perhaps less of interest to vegetarians, or even pescatarians, as the fish had a sauce with bacon. That said, they were very accommodating and replaced the sauce with something more acceptable. Nice and warm interior with wood stove kept well going one end, service very good...

"Gidleigh Park is a country house located in a wooden wally in Devon. It is quite hard to reach the place on a very narrow road, which is very beautiful, but apparently during the winter larger cars can’t even get there. Gidleigh Park houses a two-Michelin star restaurant with Michael Caines as the main chef (the restaurant was recently voted number 1 restaurant in the UK by the Harden’s Sunday Times Food List 2014). Gidleigh Park also has bedrooms (apparently all individual in style and design) and you can stay there for the night and then wonder in the gardens of the estate, which I saw some people doing when I was there. I was visiting Devon and my boyfriend chose Gidleigh Park for lunch on a Sunday and we took the long and narrow road to Gidleigh Park. The inside of the house was very old and had a lot of charm. It had eclectic art and antiques and different style rooms, the lounge had different tables, chairs and the bar was done up in a completely different style. Gidleigh Park showcased British charm and elegance. You could chose to have their signature sample menu for £140/ person, but instead we went for the much cheaper version, their lunch set menu for £44/ person for 3 courses (you could also have 4 courses for £57). Also note choosing dishes a la carte would set you back £115, so the lunch menu seems like the cheapest way how to enjoy Gidleigh Park. We did not have any wine, but apparently thy have an amazing wine cellar. The three course lunch menu included a small appetizer, a starter and a main course and you could choose from one of the 3 starters and one of the 3 main courses. Our appetizer was “goat’s cheese foam with beetroot jelly, candied walnuts and granny smith apple”, but as my boyfriend does not like goats’ cheese he had a tuna tartar as his appetizer which actually looked better than my appetizer. I was not to"
