My favourite local pub. Great athmosphere and good wine, food is lovely as well!

Can’t wait to come back! We ordered 2 sharing platters between 4 of us and wow.. the portions are extremely generous but most importantly the food was so so tasty! The pub is really chilled and plays fab music. Staff are very helpful and welcoming to! Overall had a faultless visit. Thank you

the first time that we were ever at this place while we stayed in brighton, we thought it looked good from the outside, so went a drink, it was a Sunday, so we thought that we were trying to get her frying was not sure how it was, but my god I am glad that we did it, was **** nice and the money worth x

I thought £10.95 was a bit steep for a burger until I tasted it. You know the chef is good when every little detail is superb. The three massive onions rings were crunchy and not greasy. The skinny fries with skin on were something I've never had before and the burger was gorgeous. I met the chef and he's a lovely fella. Well worth supporting his Burger Challenge coming up soon.

I used to drink in the Temple many years ago and must have missed it being re-named as the Star and Sailor? Very odd. I was always a fan and when I mooched in today I couldn't believe my eyes. Completely gutting a pub and re-furnishing/fitting it is a really expensive process and is usually done really badly by owners trying to save money or appeal to a new group of people. When you have the guts to fit a beautiful hardwood panoramic bar and install comfortable, tasteful furniture, to me it says you care about your pub and the way its run. There was a fantastic choice of bitters, lagers and ciders. They weren't serving food yet but are starting this Sunday (17th Jan) and I can pretty much gu...
