What an amazing place,wonderful interior,friendly staff and fantastic food a very pleasurable lunch time,lovely countryside setting

Really friendly in a great location, very good dinner and breakfast. Room was modern and clean. Looks like it has all been recently modernised

An impromptu stop for lunch. What a lovely place, by the river, very peaceful. Superb staff, excellent food and wine. Prawn and chorizo kebabs on flat bread , homemade ham and mustard pie. Delicious. Don’t drive past the sign on the A142 . A lovely place

What a great find! A fabulous waterside site for this hotel and pub. Emily and Molly and all the staff so welcoming. Planning my next summer holiday around a return visit! Stayed two nights b and b and dinner .....but the biggest draw is the setting!Cannot recommend too highly

The food was excellent, with a wide variety of options to choose from. The service was exceptional. Our group of former colleagues dine out together once a month, and we have high standards for both the location and the quality of the restaurant. This place met our expectations perfectly. Went there today as it was anniversary of my dads death and as a family,we thought be nice to meet up spend sometime together. I have been there before again the food was lovely could not fault it at all on food point. Only thing there was long wait for our starters to come out and main came still bit longer wait than we like and it was same for pudding. We was happy to wait as we was not in a hurry Would highly recommend. But expect fast service

On our stay (see review on [hidden link] we had an evening meal twice and breakfast one day. The setting would be good in the warmer weather in February it was dark when we ate and outside wasn’t an option. The food was ok but nothing special. The steak was not rare as requested more medium and the peppercorn sauce very strong that was the opinion of someone who likes peppercorn sauce/strong flavours. The sausage and mash was a good size portion. The chef seems to like chorizo. Breakfast was as you would expect. The granola was a bit sweet for our taste. Coffee came in a cafetière. Service when they were busy was a bit hit and miss.

We had an amazing lunch with friends at this restaurant. It was a long-awaited visit for us, finally making it for my birthday lunch, and we will definitely be returning. We shared three starters: Crispy pork belly, sweet chilli prawns, and Goars cheese and beetroot bruschetta. All were delicious and homemade, including the sweet chilli sauce. For mains, we had two seabass dishes, which were some of the best I've ever had and beautifully cooked. We also ordered a ham, egg, and chips dish, as well as a chicken and chorizo flatbread.
