"My friend kindly decided to take me another friend along to this her local pub for Xmas lunch on the 12th of December which we were all looking forward too, as we have eaten there before. Unfortunately on entering the pub it seemed quite cold as there was no open fire lite when we asked they told us they had run out of kindling, so we kept out coats on for sometime until we all warmed up. Then when we kindly asked for the menu unfortunately they had none of these as apparently they had ran out of ink for there printer so we then had to look at there written board on the wall, which had fish chips added to it. We were then told by the waitress they had no chips lol but you can have potatoes, unbelievable for a pub to run out of chips. When our meals arrived it was quite disappointing for a Christmas dinner the Yorkshire pud was completely flat, but you did get vegetables served separately which were quite a good variety even though there wasn’t lots. We then went onto order our deserts Once again to add disappointment they didn’t have any crème brûlée so the choice was just Xmas pud with brandy butter or ice cream. So one of my friends could only have ice cream as she’s gluten free who always fancies that on a cold day, me my other friend had the Xmas pud that was served in a pie dish which was not very appealing or professional looking it was served with custard not the brandy butter like the menu said. We did complain as my friends Xmas pud was also lukewarm they did kindly apologise warm it up. Because we complained they did take some of our bill. But I don’t think we will be visiting again anytime soon."

"The service was ok, drinks arrived very quickly. The waitress told us to wait before going to queue for our carvery as “there are too many people there”. I went after a bit, took my place in the queue only for another customer to barge in front of me, his friend then barged in behind him and said “I’m with him”. He did have the decency to say to the first guy that they had barged in front of me, and I just said “fill your boots”. The service at the carvery was woefully slow and with a queue of at least 6 people waiting, the chef just walked off into the kitchen. No apology, no explanation, there was another chef filling everything up so I don’t think he’d gone off to replenish supplies. I went back to the table and said I’d wait a bit, and that two people had rudely barged in front of me and the waitress happened to be near us and overheard. She apologised profusely and obviously knew who it was and said that they are “very demanding”. I went back to try again, the people who had barged in front of me were only then being served and then a waitress brought up one of their partners and pushed them in front of me too. I went and had a look at the food while I was waiting and wasn’t impressed so I went back and said to my husband we’d go elsewhere. I went to pay for the drinks and the same waitress apologised again, to be honest I would have expected to be offered the drinks on the house, but although very apologetic we still got charged. Appalling, you couldn’t pay me to try and eat there again"

"We went out as a family for lunch. It was not overly busy in there and we had pre booked. We had to wait over 15 minutes for our drink order to be taken. We then asked for them to take our food order to try and speed things up. There only seemed to be 2 front of house staff working and service was very slow. The menu was quite limited, and 2 of the main dishes were not available. We ordered two steaks, and chicken and chips. We asked what one of the dishes were (bravas fries) and the waiter didn’t know so he asked the other man, and the description given was “it’s just the fries with tomato in a tapas dish” what came was potatoes with a spicy tomato sauce covering the potatoes. We waited over an hour and 10 minutes for our food to arrive. I appreciate that the food is cooked fresh, but service was very slow. The people on the table next to us also commented twice to staff about how long things were taking. When we finally got our food, it came out in dibs and drabs, one dish had been forgotten about and we had to remind the waiter for this. We were not given steak knives so we had to ask for them. We were also not asked if we wanted any condiments like salt and pepper. The food was served to us at our table with the waiter passing the plates to us. Yet when we finished the other man asked us to stack all of our plates up for him! We eat out quite often, I know that there are restrictions in place due to Covid but as yet I have never been asked to help clear the table. Overall an experience I do not wish to repeat."

"I wish we had read the reviews on this place before booking ! I was convinced that we were being filmed for one of those ever thing going wrong tv programmers. Check in went ok. Wasn’t able to call us a taxi to the races , but hey we can do that Returned from a great day out as a group of 8 for diner and drinks 6/8 were also booked in for overnight stay. Owners arguing aggressively in the bar with customers , slightly awkward. Ordered a round of drinks, and not able to have a tab ! Moved 2 stools to all sit together in the bar and told we couldn’t do that as was sitting in a fire escape route...not usually a problem when they have a tribute act on, but hey, told off and put back. Asked when table would be ready and told we hadn’t got a table..we had booked earlier that day. In the end she said well ok I suppose we can ! Come through here..through we went to her pride and joy of a plastic hanging garden of Babylon ! After explaining to us that it had taking *ucking boxes land *ucking boxes of deliveries from amazon to deliver we got seated ! Nope no cameras visible yet Ordered 2 courses each..waitress came back and said, no we don’t have 4 of those items , re choose. Starters arrived . Mains then arrived well 6/8 arrived ! Waited and waited and nothing...asked where our meal was and told hadn’t ordered! We had confirmed the order and waitress had re read it back. At this point very aggressive owner came out fing and jeffing at us, arguing and shouting.! Couple behind us had waited 20 minutes for there diner and just got up and left . Other couple sent back steak meal as not what was ordered. Another guest found cabbage on his steak! Enough was enough , so we asked for bill...manager thought he was doing us a favor not charging for the meals we hadn’t had ! Then the 2 meals arrived !!! Shouting and intimidatingly he then said just forget it. I will keep your breakfast money and go. The owners here need to go on a customer service course, avoid at all costs! The fact that we didn’t eat that night and didn’t also have a pre paid breakfast made us £32 out of pocket and having to walk 15 minutes up the road for food. I have contacted the establishment direct but they have not responded. The accommodation is fine , but avoid the pub at all cost"
