The Trawler - Speisekarte

We called in on our way from the the Orkney Ferry as a break on our way to Aberdeen. Service with a smile and we got great chunky chips plus perfectly cooked fish in crispy batter. We ll be back.

This is a great chip shop with delicious specials! When our daughter from Glasgow asked for chips with curry sauce, the staff's reaction was priceless - a good indicator of the quality of the food.

I enjoyed the fish and chips at this restaurant. I was also pleasantly surprised to find battered pizza and Mars bars on the menu. The food was delicious and the prices were very reasonable. The two women working there were lovely and extremely friendly. Speisekarte ansehen

What is with all the great reviews? Glum staff, happy to talk with each other, no smiles over the counter though. I dont normally leave reviews, but this was rubbish. Chips, terrible, fish, terrible. I wouldnt go back, and did not enjoy it. Again, I have no idea why there are good reviews.

I have visited this restaurant several times and the staff are incredibly friendly. My husband enjoyed the delicious and fresh fish and chips, while I had the excellent scampi and chips. I recently learned that they have also won an award - congratulations! I highly recommend this place and will definitely be returning soon.

We had two nicely cooked Haddock suppers that was tasty and wasn't too greasy. Our complaint was the amount of chips served with supper. Maybe they was running short of chips at time we was there. So annoying to have small portions when food expensive and nicely cooked . May have too order an extra portion of chips next time lol. Speisekarte ansehen

Stopped off for a fish supper and scampi and loaded fries. UNREAL! Stopped in again on way back home and had the same again, equally impressed. The staff behind the counter were very nice and welcoming even though it was quite busy, think they were Lauren and Hannah, sorry if i got your names wrong!. Definitely will be back again!

Was really looking forward to dinner at this chippy as I had visited before. We stopped in Golspie on 10 September to pick up takeaway and sign posted on door said opening hours on Sundays were 4 p.m. It was only 3 p.m., so we walked around for an hour realizing at that time that there weren’t any staff in the restaurant. It was obvious they were not opening at all, let alone at 4 p.m. The “sign” is printed on plain paper and could easily be updated. The least they could do is update their operating hours signage if hours have changed.

If you're traveling the NC 500, find yourself in Golspie and a little peckish, then stop by The Trawler for some fish chips, dine in or take away! What can I say, simply fabulous fish chips! Clean, fresh fish chips served piping hot and absolutely delicious, and all delivered with simply wonderful customer service! A huge congrats to Mama P (simply lovely manager of The Trawler) and her team. Mama P is extremely warm and welcoming and her priority is your enjoyment and comfort, so do pop by. Oh and note, this little gem of a find isn't just any old Fish Chip shop, it just happens to be the winner of Scotland's Business Awards 2023 for best fish and chip shop!
