Friendly staff squeezed me in as a party of one into this very busy pub. The beer is excellent and the food is great value for money. I had scampi and chips which came really quickly. Solid vote for this place. Good all round.

Eating here is brilliant, eat twice and it is always good. their house made burger are huge and service is quite fast. they have to order cash, but for their food that is a shame. expected something that he could stay on the table instead of moving up and down for easy things. there is a smoker area that is quite large and suitable for summer time. will definitely go back and taste their vegetarian dishes.

Huge portion of fish and chips! Can't fault them there. It was cooked to perfection. They were able to seat us without a reservation as we were turned away by the place opposite. The vibe is very much old-skool country pub, which I really liked. Walls painted in British racing green with Tiffany style lamps. Original beamed ceilings. We are just back from our evening meal at The Village Inn for the third time in this week. These days, so many pubs have been 'modernised ' to become more of a restaurant and consequently take away their ambience, cosiness and the all-important friendliness one finds in a local tavern. The Village Inn has exceptionally friendly service, superb beers and really delicious food at very reasonable prices. A special thank you to Lisa for looking after us on two of the days and to the rest of the staff who make this pub worth travelling back to Shanklin for!
