"While canal boating for a week on this stretch of the Grand Union Canal, we were becoming a little disappointed by the lack of quality pubs serving good food on or a short walk from the canalside. Until we came across the Olde Sun. Beautiful old pub with a delightful interior and friendly service. And the food is amazing. The ploughmans was traditional, with great quality produce and everything a ploughmans should be. My 12 year old son had the fish and chips, which despite being a very generous size, he polished off with gusto. Meanwhile my partner opted for the venison cottage pie which he couldn 't stop raving about the best cottage pie I 've ever eaten etc A lovely lunch, a couple of drinks and a game of pool a fantastic way to spend a couple of hours. I can 't recommend this pub enough."

"We were 6 adults on a narrowboat holiday moored overnight on the Grand Union canal. A 10 min walk past the church brought us straight to the pub. Apart from food and drink an important consideration was their Covid 19 measures. On arrival we were...impressed by the building's overall well maintained appearance and cleanliness plus the additional procedures put in place to minimise the risk of infection. Our table was nicely separated from other diners and the overall ambience was of a warm and friendly pub. For mains our order included liver, steaks and a Thai curry accompanied by Narrow Gauge beer and various wines, we did not have starters or a dessert. In all respects this was a most enjoyable meal made all the the more remarkable by the exceptional value for money. But perhaps in these exceptional times as visitors we appreciated the high standards of hospitality and service set by the managers and staff to ensure we voted the Plume of Feathers best pub of our holiday. Thx guys."

"Went here today lovely setting. Not far from Everdon Stubbs which is beautiful and another reason to go. Only back open a year very nicely done up with a lovely garden that is just having some extra work done. Service great, even though there wasn’t any vegan options I asked if they had anything I could have and they offered me a couple of lovely options. Flat bread with tofu and salad and a nice drizzle of balsamic. It was a starter size which was fine by me. I had tea to drink which they did have any plant milk for but I always take some with me so that still work for me. My husband had the Sunday dinner which he said was good. The only negative is only a little parking at the front so we parked a little way down the road. Don’t think this is something that they can change as it is a small village pub with nowhere to add the space."

"many thanks for their delicious food at the midday today excellent service from all and a great special thank you to the chef who went out of his to ensure my celiac son! I forgot to make photos, but he loved his lunch so much and it makes a difference that he has a big chickenburger and chips instead of something he doesn’t really have fantastic, especially as his friends burgers! Many thanks again, they have no idea how much difference it does when it’s child health and happiness” and feel them “fit” in"

"Ordered food for 6 people including children, fantastic correspondence from management and professionalism. When we got there staff were very polite (and the dog was lush). The food came in flat boxes and all packaging fully recyclable. The food itself was hot and fresh and tasted amazing. I was having the mixed grill and then the hubby seen it and swapped for his burger ‍ (Lucky it was his birthday). The desert were a lovely addition. All on all will be hoping the takeaway continues through the lock down as it is lovely food from the local village pub and we need to support our local services. Fantastic evening thanks to you guys.
