"The service at this restaurant was impeccable, with truly kind and genuine staff providing lovely touches in the rooms and during meals. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious and beautifully presented. The rooms had all basic amenities and even included a sweet treat on the pillows. The establishment is fully dog-friendly and despite every table being packed, it didn't feel loud or busy. Overall, the rooms, service, and location all scored a perfect 5, making this a standout hotel for its romantic and quiet atmosphere."

"I’ve visited the old mill many times over the last 10 years. For work dinners. With my husband. Socially with friends. I’ve never had any problems with food or service. Nice varied menu. Average price. Good quality and a nice setting. It’s tucked on outskirts of town away from any other buildings. Good choice for a nice place to eat. Highly recommend the brie, ribs and butter chicken. Would not hesitate to return or to recommend."

"Terrible meal.. So disappointed after being recommended. We usually eat at Everest Inn but went against our usual, what a mistake. The Tandoori lamb was the weirdest artificial red colour, and no idea if it was indeed lamb as it tasted like nothing. The chicken passander was tasteless and the chicken dry and hard to chew and swallow. The keema naan tasted like sweet aftershave. The saag aloo and bombay were sweet.. Overall it tastes artificial and sweet!!! Awful. If I hadn't been SO hungry I'd have thrown the lot away!!! Waste of £45"

"We stayed for one night recently, with dinner in the evening. The food was good, though perhaps not the most inventive for a tasting menu. The wine pairing was excellent.The room was 'okay ', some nice original features, but really let down by a bathroom that 's windowless, very small and cheaply outfitted (chrome coated plastic, basic electric shower, mirror with a power button on it, mouldy holder) – it feels out of step with the aesthetic of the rest of the room and it 's telling you don 't see much of it on the website when booking.The overall impression was a little underwhelming. It was a needed change of scene but we are unlikely to return."

"We went here regularly when the Compasses was under its former management so decided to return now that the pub is fully re open. We arrived just before 7pm to a virtually empty pub but thankfully it got busier as the evening progressed. We enjoyed pre dinner drinks in the garden. The food was great although it’s more pub style food as opposed to fine dining we enjoyed the baked truffle polenta, creamy spinach and poached egg and charred asparagus, parma ham, Parmesan crisp for starters; for mains we had the 10oz ribeye, gratin dauphinoise, roast tomato and garlic spinach and roasted squash burger, slaw, salad, sriracha mayo and fries; and for desert we had the lemon posset, raspberry compote and pink peppercorn and boozy fudge banana, chocolate ooze and vanilla ice cream. The landlord was really friendly and welcoming and we were served by the delightful, attentive and really bubbly Felicity. There is a great selection of beers and ales and a good wine menu the Chateauneuf du pape was superb. As the pub is still in relative infancy I suspect it may take a bit of time for things to bed down a little and it’s much more of a casual pub dining affair than before but that’s not a bad thing and we will undoubtedly be returning at some point."
