"This is still one of the worst Wetherspoons i have visited and on business travelling with our engineers country wide i have visited many. Tables are often left piled with dirty plates and glasses. Should anyone bother to clear them the tables are rarely wiped unless you ask meaning they have ketchup, mayo and sticky drink marks all over them. I have started taking my own anti bacterial wipes and if you wipe the table you would be amazed how dirty they are when you look at the used wipes. This place is where myself and friends all caught Covid on a night out there last year. Positive is that the staff are the best they have had in there for years. Very friendly and efficient it just needs to sort out these issues. Quiz on a Wednesday is awful. Its SO LOUD and when it finishes he then insists on playing music loud after it. TV's have sound turned to zero every night and no music playing yet the quiz could be done from your front room 2 miles away! Also people come in doing the quiz for a warm and buy one drink all night paying a pound to do the quiz. No way that quiz increases bar takings. When there was a steak night or curry night on people used to come in and eat and drink. All the proper drinkers and spenders have stopped going in on a Wednesday or huddle as far away from the quiz as they can get to eat and drink. A review is needed by Wetherspoons area manager on this situation. Its a shame but all this needs a total shake up."

We visit this branch most Wednesdays when the quiz takes place. We sometimes eat and the food is reasonable. A good stop off if in the area.

Cheap and cheerful food. You can't do better than the mixed grill for the price. Beer choice isn't as good as some wetherspoons but food makes up for it

My son and I stopped by for some drinks and pizza. We received fast service from the friendly lady with curly hair, who also delivered our food. Her warm conversational style helped us feel at ease.

Heard a lot about Wetherspoons!! Happened to chance on The Wilfred Wood whilst passing through! Wonderful! Great choice of food and drinks and service from all the exceptional young staff, namely Bill! Won’t hesitate to call on a Wetherspoons in future.

I am currently at the pub and ordered a traditional breakfast. When it arrived, it was cold. I requested for it to be reheated. The waitress (who wasn't very cheerful) took my plate. When she returned, she simply dropped it on the table without any apology, smile, or acknowledgment. I expect more from a Wetherspoons.

We visited on Monday for lunch as we do every week and when we went to order our usual toasties we were told that there was no bread !! We therefore ordered 2 jacket potatoes and coffee instead When the potatoes eventually arrived (25 minutes) they were cold on the outside so we sent them back. We waited a further 20 minutes and they had still not arrived ! I therefore went to the bar to request a refund as we had waited over an HOUR for 2 jackets ! The staff were extremely rude and after some discussion finally refunded for the jacket potatoes but insisted on charging for 2 coffees. This was totally unreasonable given the amount of time we had waited for our lunch and the gentleman in quest...

Most of the staff and customers are friendly. Not too much swearing but you are always going to get the odd wa**er and miserable bas**rd. Not a big pub so the atmosphere is usually good even if only a few people in. The foods usually delivered quickly and properly cooked on a warm plate. Like most spoons a good selection of well kept beer. Coffee could be warmer, my advice, warm the cup using the hot water unless you like your hot drinks tepid. You can understand if occasionally the odd member of staff gets pi**ed off. They work their bits off, very rarely get any tips because many people pay by card or are just too mean.
