Ate here today, with my dog she was made very welcome with treats the minute we are arrived! Had fish and chips, absolutely delicious, the best home cooked chips I've had in a while! Couldn't fault a thing. Great service too, deffo going back, wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place

I travel a lot for business so have stayed in a number of places, however this is now by far my favourite, I stayed in the forest room which was like staying in a studio flat Very clean, spacious and quiet In addition the food was fantastic, great portion sizes . Chef came out to check all was ok, which was a great personal touch! Will defo be back !!!

had a lovely meal here with friends I had steak friends had scampi and chips, and one had pie all were very happy. Only prob was as friends were staying there they were asked just having finished big meal what they wanted for breakfast!!!!! Then when some asked for full english they were very disappointed as a lot of things were not included i.e. black pudding, hash browns etc Speisekarte ansehen

We stayed at The Woodman for one night on our way to Northumberland and two nights on the way back. The accomodation was spotlessly clean, comfortable and had everything for a good night's rest. The breakfasts were great, freshly cooked for each guest. The evening meals, including a Sunday roast were delicious and the menu has a great choice of meals. The staff at The Woodman are welcoming, friendly and cannot do enough for you. We will visit again.

We were staying at a local campsite (in the horrible driving rain! and so decided we would find somewhere for tea. The Woodman did not disappoint. There was 7 of us and 2 dogs and we could not have been made to feel more welcome. Staff are amazing and the food was the best we’ve eaten in agggeees! The steak and ale pie was FIT! Easily the nicest I’ve ever had. My Spinone shared it and she thought the same ha! I wish we had somewhere like this closer to home. Amazing comfort food and a lovely atmosphere. Thanks so much for:

We stayed overnight with our friends, both in Motorhomes, I had precooked and the car park was cordoned off for us. It was nice to sit outside in the beer garden enjoying a pint and watching the RAF practising. WIFI is good both inside and out. We had a table for reserved for the owners were very helpful and all the staff were very customer focused. The food was pub grub of the highest order, well cooked, presented, piping hot and delicious. We did a nice walk in the morning before leaving, overall an establishment worthy of an excellent. Thank you to the fantastic team but especially Simone for a lovely stay! We really appreciate you accommodating our motorhome for the night. We didn’t use the electricity hook up or fresh water top up but there are great facilities to offer! And the free parking is such a great attraction too. We thoroughly enjoyed dinner and breakfast and Dexter loved his sausage too!!! Everybody we met (chef, owner and bar staff) were so friendly, kind and welcoming. I will certainly make sure I recommend you to others fortunate enough to enjoy the beautiful N Yorkshire countryside.

WE STAYED HERE FOR 2 NIGHTS 26 AND 27TH JULY FOR OUR SONS WEDDING NEARBY. COULDNT GET A SHOWER ON THE MORNING OF THE WEDDING AS NO HOT WATER . THE LANDLORD CAME AND SAID IT WAS BECAUSE EVERYONE WAS IN THE SHOWERS AT THE SAME TIME THATS WHAT YOU GET IN THE DALES ! NEVER HAPPENED TO US BEFORE IN THE DALES . I TOLD HIM I EXPECTED A HOT SHOWER ON THE MORNING OF MY SONS WEDDING BUT SHRUGGED . ONE PACK OF BISCUITS FOR 2 OF US , WAS TOLD THE EXACT TIME TO COME FOR BREAKFAST 9 15 NOT ANY EARLIER . SERVINGS WERE MISERLY , TERRIBLE CHOICE AND LIMITED MILK FOR CEREALS . WOULD NEVER EVER GO AGAIN

Stayed here for 3 nights B&B with my partner (Val). A perfect location for exploring nearby places such as Bedale, Leyburn, Richmond, Northallerton, Thirsk and Ripon, which we did easily as the old A1 (now A6055) gets you everywhere quickly. We had a superior double which was a big room, clean and tidy. The welcome is good as are all of the staff who work there. Good selection of draught beers and lagers, good breakfast and the restaurant has a good selection of choice. A dog and child friendly place to visit and/or stay at. Quiet location despite the A1M being close but you don't even hear it. Ample car parking at the back. Highly recommended. Speisekarte ansehen
