"we visited on a cold, windy Saturday in December (real, my birthday, as it happened) my partner had a Gujerati curry and I went for iddli sambar. it was okay, but in my opinion, a true sambar should be quite thin, and they should be able to taste curry leaves and tamarinde. this lonely was a thicker stew, the dominant spicy was cumin. I also think that idyllia should be quite easy, and that was hard. it was in the round a Nordic iddli sambar. the kingfisher was nice, but I would have preferred an ipa that is the best beer to accompany Indian food when they ask me."

Even though the Vegetarian Food Studio’s special thali is cheap as chips, the flavours and textures on show didn’t blow me away. Perhaps there are richer pickings to be had from their main menu.

not much to say: the original and still the best vegetarian Indian eat around. we have now come into service three times and can compare the real world with the restaurants – and this applies to their origin.

vegetarian Indian food. whole menu is clearly marked with gf options. about 75% of the quite extensive menu seems to be gf. really good and personal was helpful to make sure that the cook's choice set we got would be gf

I order a student tiffin from here for only £5 per night, and I love the amount and quality of the food. there is always a Gujrati daal, a sweet (sabji), rice and 3 rotis that are sent. I think that wfs should give the students a chance if they want the same channel daily or not as everyone likes it.

huge menu with many vegan options. all I have tried was absolutely delicious, but some dishes are very spicy, so note the spicy that is marked.) the thali is really good, as they receive a complete meal including dessert at a good price. they can bring their own alcohol-collection fee), which is excellent if they want a few drinks cheap.

I recently dined at a vegetarian Indian restaurant that offers a variety of gluten-free options. The menu was clearly labeled, with approximately 75% of the dishes being gluten-free. The staff was helpful in accommodating our dietary needs and made sure that the chef's choice set we ordered was gluten-free. The food was delicious and I had a great experience overall.

they liked to eat. service and ambiente. methi paratha (the platform) is amazing. onion pakora( bhaji) not good as they again aloo tikki chaat wonderful and beautiful crispy thaali is simply ok not the real gujarati thali. dosa I would say is good again, but coconut cutney is what the cook needs to learn. sambhar is sweet as gujarati total its nyc restaurant indian gown.

The café itself is unpretentious and a little basic, but clean and bright; the first thing I noticed when I walked in was the array of laminated press cuttings on the wall. The Vegetarian Food Studio has been featured by a number of titles including The Observer Food Monthly, Stella Magazine, The South Wales Echo and theguardian.co.uk. I found it totally charming that they had lovingly laminated each review and stuck them proudly on the wall, and it only added to my anticipation.

"It was the most bizarre experience dining here. First when we arrived in the restaurant, our group set up was that there was someone on each end who was sitting facing an empty chair on the other side of the table. Upon enquiry we understood it was a covid measure, however never had any other restaurants requesting such seating arrangements in the past 20 months. We ordered two split pots, a non-spicy broth for one side of the pot and a spicy broth for the other side. The staff came to confirm that we wanted spicy/non-spicy in each pot. Yes, we said. To our shock when the pots came, one pot was spicy/spicy on both side, and the other was non-spicy/non-spicy on both sides. This was after the staff had came by to confirm that we wanted a spicy/non-spicy set-up, and in the usual situation a person wanting a spicy broth would not have asked for a split pot. We raised this to the staff and were clearly unhappy about it, though did not insist on having the broths changed around. What happened next made it the most awkward and uncomfortable dining experience ever. From where we were sitting, we could hear the owner reprimanding the staff for the error, throughout our meal. We understand mistakes occur and if the owner was unhappy about the mistake and genuinely wanted to apologise, taking the initiative to change the broth to the right setup, or a complimentary drink or dish would have gone a long way. But no, he chose to reprimand the staff within our hearing for the whole dinner (which didn't help the situation one bit and made the experience worse! . We felt sorry for the staff. Even with the hospitality shortage, that was a completely wrong way to help the staff improve, nor help retain them in the long run. I don't remember anything about the food, although photos did show a good range to choose from. At the end of the meal we each received a box of hello panda, which might have helped, if not for the fact they were expired. All in all, would not recommend."
