My dining experience at this restaurant was part of a package deal for the Tattoo. The food, service, drinks, and the host (who is also the owner) were all fantastic. In summary, everything was excellent. Kudos to the entire team for a wonderful evening.

We came to the restaurant for a special birthday lunch. We loved everything! From the first class service to the outstanding food. An original, tasty food menu. We both had the fish option and it was cooked to perfection. Thank you James and Eric for the attentive service. We will definitely be back!

The food at this restaurant is decent, not exceptional but acceptable and matches the description. However, the atmosphere leaves much to be desired, resembling a deserted train station waiting room. as a tourist we had a long tour through the castle and this place was the perfect restaurant to sit down and enjoy the view of the castle we ordered oysters, squid with pommes, washes it with beer, and overall it was a great experience the oysters were raised, and with a zeste of lime they taste delicious. we loved the service and how they explained the different points in the city to see and we will definitely pay it another visit on our next trip there

we decided to enjoy a small evening on the halloween evening and fortunately we were able to book a table. before booking I had only heard good things until we were gone, I became a supporter. from the moment when we arrived and was brought from the door to the restaurant, and in the evening, all the staff could not take care and thought to have been excellent service. then there was the food I had heard from again. Being a food blogger is a tough gig at times. The amazing food. The amazing food. Oh wait, actually, it’s a fantastic gig and I’m ever-grateful for the folks to who continue to read my words on feelings about meals here, there and everywhere. This was probably one of the best dinners I've had in Edinburgh ever!! The building is beautiful and the stairs lead up to a fantastic dining room with beautiful views of the castle. Make sure you're there at sunset as it really is something to be seen. When I dined here I tried the taste Scotland tasting menu. It was delicious. Each course packed full of local ingredients and mouthwatering flavours. We had dinner on our anniversary in this wonderful restaurant on a Saturday night, it was a super experience from start to finish, I have chronic back pain and we requested comfortable seats and they did not disappoint, there is even a lift which you would not expect in such a historic building. The food was delicious, I don't even like beetroot that much but the beet starter sounded so good I ordered that, we had 3 courses each and we can't fault anything, James looked after us, he was incredibly professional and knowledgeable and every interaction we the other staff was excellent too, they even said Happy Anniversary when we arrived which was a lovely touch.
