I only stopped in for a drink, but the restaurant was very quiet and lacked any ambiance.

Have eaten here a few times over the years, always a good experience. Staff are attentive, and the food very nice. Recommend the steak and ale pudding puff pastry crust was perfect.

Whilst stopping over in the hotel we chose to eat here in the evening. This restaurant had a lovely menu. I had the Chicken Coq auvin, which was delicious! Pannacotta to finish. Ambience was both relaxed and friendly, attentive waiting staff made the experience a pleasure. Speisekarte ansehen

A Christmas gift that did not meet our expectations. Lunch was served promptly by excellent waiting staff but the food was very disappointing. They do not serve smaller portions for small appetites and when the meal arrived the veg was undercooked and the beef cut too thickly and very tough.

We had an excellent experience at this restaurant for our anniversary meal. We were even offered a free cocktail, which was a nice touch. The staff were lovely, and we have been a few times before, always enjoying a lovely meal. I highly recommend this place. We also celebrated my 70th birthday there and had another lovely experience.

We attended a funeral for a very special lady and the wake was at the vines, I have never been here before and never will again. The food was lovely but wasn't enough for everyone to have a sandwich or a piece of cake and I felt so bad for the lovely family who had lost there mother. They ran out of tea and coffee and had to wait ages for them to fill up. Some of the staff were rude and unhelpful. Visited Vines for a meal with my wife. Menu had a good selection, I ordered the suet pie and my wife ordered the lamb nosiettes. The pie was supposed to come with rosemary and thyme mash, which seemed to be missing the rosemary and thyme! The lamb was extremely fatty and came with some additional broccoli (which my wife does not like) and was missing the toasted pine kernels! Generally the service was quite poor and value for money was bad. This restaurant has been going downhill for some time now and the hotel is definitely missing a trick, I don’t think we will be visiting any time soon.

We made a reservation for a group of 5 for lunch on a Saturday. When we arrived, we had to navigate through a crowd of wedding guests in the bar area, so we went straight to our table instead of getting a drink at the bar. The service was good, with friendly staff, and the food was delicious, although a bit on the pricier side. I had the braised beef with mashed potatoes, which I would recommend. Everyone in our group ordered different dishes and we all agreed they were tasty, especially the chips that came with the burger. However, I personally felt that the desserts were a bit overpriced for what they were.

Quite pricy for mediocre food and an almost bland, forgettable atmosphere. Billed as one of the better quality and certainly pricier restaurants in the area it should offer standout service and food, unfortunately neither were on offer. We ordered the chicken and prosciutto balottene, smoked pork strips with a side of fries. For dessert the Pina Colada posset and triple ice cream. A nice selection but everything was just a bit off. The chicken was overcooked and a little dry requiring a heavy coating of jus to be enjoyable. The fries had an overused oil taste... either the oil needed refreshing or the fryer wasn't hot enough.
