"delightful country pub, fantastic authentic rustic inside oozing character. a warm, friendly welcome awaits from very attentive staff. we had luck and managed to press on a last-minute booking, they were very busy, but the place ran like a clockwork. we didn't have to wait long before our drinks order, followed by our food order, which was also quick and tasty. Although they were not busy at any point, we felt hurried and they were also dog friendly. the facilities were very clean and easy to use. perfect small pub; highly recommend a visit, they will not be disappointed"

Good pub food. Fish was cooked well, still moist. Chips crisp and soft inside. Small portion of Moroccan veg terrine was just right. The staff were friendly and efficient.

Stopped here for lunch on Good Friday. Enjoyed the lovely sunny garden and, despite being busy, received a really warm welcome. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff who were all consistently friendly and helpful. Food was also great and served promptly. Thank you!

Great, traditional pub tucked away in Lyndhurst. Good food and beer. Worth calling in on your way around the Lyndhurst circular walk. Currently (Mar'22) closes relatively early but a great pub nonetheless. A short but worthwhile walk from the Forest Lodge Hotel. Recommended.

very nice garden to have a drink and a meal. pub is also super sweet inside and the staff was very friendly. Eating was her standard pub food, nothing less. beautiful selection of local beers. we started and finished our 13km lyndhurst parish walk aka the pub walk from here. parking available. wifi available in so much 4g here.

many thanks to laura that they have the experience here really fantastic with exceptionally good customer support and genuine nature for all guests who visit the waterloo arms today. the same applies to the cook and the wonderful high-quality food that was perfect in every sight. the atmosphere here puts the bar. recommend to everyone in the opposite after a very quiet relaxing restaurant and pub.

We visited this pub on a Saturday lunchtime in January. It’s situated just outside of Lyndhurst just off the A337, it is sign posted. There are some parking spaces at the front but more around the back though it does get busy! It’s a cosy typical country pub, it has a log fire, covered outdoor seating, a garden it’s dog friendly. We had dinner the home cooked food is delicious, I had the steak ale pie, veggies decided to have chips with it. The meat filling is generous, the service is good friendly. Usual prices, well worth a visit.

"My Wife and I don't travel so well these days but decided to go a little further afield from our usual Highcliffe and Christchurch haunts we live in Mudeford. We went twice in point of fact. The first visit was the 21st June when My wife and I had a quiet Birthday celebration lunch prior to the Family celebration later in the day. It was excellent. We only had the Mains and despite it being busy and not having booked we were served promptly and cheerfully with a round of drinks. My Wife had Chicken Pie and I had Liver and Bacon. Both were excellent and my Wifes vegetables were freshly done. I don't have vegetables. We liked it so much we went back three days later to celebrate our youngest Daughters birthday and again had lunch before the Family celebration later in the day. The meal was as fabulous as three days prior. My Wife had a Chicken Roast, our Daughter had Beef Roast and I had an amazingly well filled Steak and Merlot Pie of the Week. As before the vegetables were freshly done. Unusually for us we also had puddings (Lemon Meringue, Bailey's Cheescake and Apple Tart with Custard. All were excellent. All washed down with Tea and a Latte the former being served in nicely twee Teapots. Total cost £80 for the three of us on the second visit. Worth every penny. All in all First Class and couldn't fault it. Disabled parking nicely located in the front with ample parking for those more mobile at the side and back. Just a note for History buffs. The main building was built in 1853 by John Harrison(? a Carpenter thus the name Carpenters Arms."
