"I went to this restaurant for a birthday meal based on a recommendation from a friend. It's located in a beautiful village and was quite busy, which shows it's very popular. However, it would be nice to have a bit more space between tables to avoid feeling cramped. The staff were very friendly, and my meal, as well as those of my partner and one of my sons, were delicious, well-cooked, and very enjoyable. Unfortunately, my other son's meal wasn't up to par; his soup had separated, and he had hoped for a nice crunchy piece of crackling on his pork, but instead, it was tough and chewy. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and I'd consider returning, though probably not on a Sunday, as it seemed like many people were out looking for a nice dinner spot."

I had an amazing lunch with exceptional service from Katy and the team. Executive Chef Colin creates memorable menus featuring international dishes. I highly recommend the pork belly "pornstar" and the vegan-friendly panna cotta dessert with gorse berries. The homemade bread is outstanding!

I came here for the first time in about 10 years as I live away from the area. All I can say is WOW!! The staff were amazing and the service was polite and quick. I enjoyed the Dorset snails and the ribeye which the chef cooked to perfection. Thank you I won't be leaving it so long to be back this time.

I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! The menu was excellent, the food was delicious, and the service was top-notch. It made for a truly wonderful evening. It's rare that I get the chance to give such high praise to a restaurant or pub, which is unfortunate for diners. However, this establishment is a shining example of how it should be done right.

We had a lovely meal at the Three Tuns last night. Having lived in the area and driven past the pub many times, we were surprised that we had never been there and were very glad we fixed that. The food was excellent: tasty, well presented and delivered in good time we both really enjoyed it. Two courses with drinks was around £55 which I felt was about right for the quality and service. Staff were helpful, polite and very pleasant. We’ll definitely be back for more. Thanks.

A busy local pub with friendly, professional staff. We were lucky to get a table in the bar area as the restaurant was fully booked. We had the curried vegetables, a (not so) small portion of mussels, and chips and market veg on the side. All the food was delicious, fresh (local) and well cooked. We had the panna cotta and meringue (both vegan) which were delicious, a real treat! We had cider from the orchard round the corner and the farmer (whose face was on the glass) was actually sitting at the bar!

great atmosphere, attentive staff that remembered my name, despite how busy it was (a first, and made a real difference) and best to eat tasty, served on massive teller that made it look like one of the chic restaurants that they don't feed next to anything, for lasting cash when in the did they give them a lot of food, for little money! a clever trick! it was great. we're coming back. Oh, if you go, and you should, I would recommend a booking. it can have to do. photos of steak and kidney cake, slowly boiled pig and a common panacotta. there is also one of our leberparfait with quittenstarter, but it was so delicious we just ate it.

I visited the pub last night, Tuesday. It was a bit quiet, but that's typical for a midweek visit this time of year. The beer was fantastic, and the staff were exactly what you hope for in a pub—superb, fun, and knowledgeable. A lovely lady recommended the mushroom soup, and she hit the nail on the head; it was incredible. All five of us ordered it. She also suggested the lamb and mint suet pudding, which turned out to be exceptional—not overly minty, which was great. The service was top-notch, and we truly enjoyed our experience. The pub itself is beautiful, with Ringwood ales and brilliant staff. The food was amazing. What more could you ask for? I highly recommend it. Thank you!

"My Wife and I don't travel so well these days but decided to go a little further afield from our usual Highcliffe and Christchurch haunts we live in Mudeford. We went twice in point of fact. The first visit was the 21st June when My wife and I had a quiet Birthday celebration lunch prior to the Family celebration later in the day. It was excellent. We only had the Mains and despite it being busy and not having booked we were served promptly and cheerfully with a round of drinks. My Wife had Chicken Pie and I had Liver and Bacon. Both were excellent and my Wifes vegetables were freshly done. I don't have vegetables. We liked it so much we went back three days later to celebrate our youngest Daughters birthday and again had lunch before the Family celebration later in the day. The meal was as fabulous as three days prior. My Wife had a Chicken Roast, our Daughter had Beef Roast and I had an amazingly well filled Steak and Merlot Pie of the Week. As before the vegetables were freshly done. Unusually for us we also had puddings (Lemon Meringue, Bailey's Cheescake and Apple Tart with Custard. All were excellent. All washed down with Tea and a Latte the former being served in nicely twee Teapots. Total cost £80 for the three of us on the second visit. Worth every penny. All in all First Class and couldn't fault it. Disabled parking nicely located in the front with ample parking for those more mobile at the side and back. Just a note for History buffs. The main building was built in 1853 by John Harrison(? a Carpenter thus the name Carpenters Arms."

"I came to the oak on a Wednesday for dinner with my girlfriend. The second we stepped foot through the door we felt welcomed. Being the time of year it is and the time we decided to dine it was quiet whilst still exceedingly atmospheric. After being served our drinks by the attentive bar staff (a very lovely lady whos name escapes me), the head chef alex struck up a conversation with us from behind the bar. Clearly a man that knows his food, his menu and commands a perfect execution of the dishes he prepares. Whilst we were perusing the menu, the chef; Alex, instead of forcing the most expensive items on the menu upon us, helped us to find items that perfectly suited what we were looking for. Having worked in hospitality for years myself, both back and front of house, ive never met a chef so forthwright in customer engagement whilst maintaing pure proffesionalism. Being a cold and horribly wet novemeber eve, i setteld on the trio of sausages with mash, peas and hands down the best onion gravy ive ever had the pleasure to consume! My other half went for the venison and squash hot-pot. We ended up sharing both between us as each dish warrented food envy from either side. With the complex flavours, presentation and quality of the food, youd expect a hefty price tag. But that is also not the case. I cannot wait to return and i cannot stop recommending this gem hidden in the grassy rough of the country side."
