"Our traditional Friday-night Chinese food, which we usually get from Canton House which is now temp closed due to a fire incident caused by thirds, was attempted at Wesby tonight. We got the salt and pepper 10' box for £17.50, which turned out to be a fairly overpriced pizza box with lots of chips, a carton of rice, and a few small bits of chicken, few onions, some seaweed and some curry sauce. Technically the most expensive chips we had in a long time. Sure, the taste was ok, but being used to Canton House' salt and pepper chicken, which are the very best wings you'll ever taste, and the odd salt and pepper box, which is filled to the rim with a good mixture of chicken, small ribs, chicken balls, spring rolls, we genuinely felt quite robbed for the price we paid. We honestly wanted to give Wesby a fair chance but this meal really was not worth the cost and so we will not try this again. Back to home cooked meals until Canton reopens. No offense Wesby, I can see you're lovely, hard-working people and I suspect your other meals are quite likely very tasty, and I wish you all the best, but this was honestly quite disappointing. Good value for money. Gave us 2 freebies on top of our fresh, hot order which was ready to eat straight away. Brilliant taste, best Chinese in Over Wyre. Salt and Pepper Chips were a highlight. Curry sauce was perfect and the soft noodles were delicious. Unfortunately, we found a hair in the chow mein and the fried rice was burnt but they apologised with the freebies. Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian versions of most dishes. Dietary restrictions: They have clear allergy indications and plenty of vegan, vegetarian, gluten free options.
