Great friendly little bar with wide choice of beers and tasty pizzas made fresh in the oven next to the bar. Bonus last night (Wednesday) it was buy one get one half price! It was terrible!!! I rang them as soon as I opened the food and the man on the phone agreed. He said 'was it the chicken kebab? Hes offered me a refund! When I asked for a new kebab I was told basically it was time they were closing. We are regulars here and feel totally let down when our whole order was over 30 quid. Chips were half cooked and the middle cold and inedible. Pitta was obviously off and as hard as a rock. I 've got a sample of all the meal as I can tell all the food was being 'used up ' I 'll be in tomorrow for a full refund.

i too had an iffy pint of lager. smelt awefull . tasty awefull .... had same pint many times before. when it tasted o.k ........ did complain .....but arrogant staff said ..oh but its clear. they even tasted it and said it was o.k... been drinking lager all my life know good from bad... any other pub would gladly change it with a smile. not in here.... they even said we cant do nothing about it ....thank god it was only £4.80 ..... coulda been big meal...... left it on counter told em you lost a customer......... Update 14/8/20 There are very many reasons to visit the West Kirby Tap: delightful venue, wonderful staff, great cask ales, relaxed atmosphere... and one more reason added to the list recently, fantastic pizza menu, they are absolutely superb! Update 22/7/20 The West Kirby Tap has now reopened after lockdown. A very simple customer registration process is in place, accomplished either by a smartphone QR code scan or good old pen and paper. Social distancing and hygiene measures are excellent. Seating capacity inside has reduced slightly but that doesn 't affect the pub 's delightful ambience one iota.
