Sandie was incredibly welcoming and the Sunday roast was fantastic! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, especially with the fire creating a cozy ambiance during the winter months.

We were searching for a Sunday roast in the area and discovered that the White Lion offered one of the best options. The portions were generous and the staff was knowledgeable and friendly when it came to vegan options.

There were three vegan nets that sound good, I had the hotpot with frits that was really delicious and would definitely recommend. My family had vegetables and meat dishes that were just as good. Friendly and efficient staff. Worth a visit.

The menu has been updated since the previous review. There is only one salad (absorb feta to be made vegan), a burger (absorb the aioli be vegan) or a hot pot as main dishes. The burger was beautiful, but definitely nothing special for £12. In addition, the service was very bad. We waited an hour to eat without warning that it would wait a long time. I wouldn't recommend it. Much better places in the hedge bridge for vegans.

Here for dinner and food clearly marked vegan. The staff had good knowledge of veganism and advised us that the chips were fried in the same oil as fish. She then checked with the cook, the oil had just been changed, so would be OK. We shared the sweet potato starter that tasted delicious and then I had the mushroom lasagna that was very tasty and the mushrooms had a nice taste. Husband had good burgers and chips. Nice atmosphere in the pub.

The burger was nice, but nothing exceptional for the price of £12. Additionally, the service was very poor. We had to wait for an hour to be served without any prior warning about the long wait. I would not recommend this restaurant. There are much better vegan options available in the area, such as Mosquito Bridge.

The White Lion has some vegan options and the staff are knowledgeable by allergens, but unfortunately the available options are really expensive for what you get £14 for a veggie hotpot! . Did the Veggie Burger for £12 that can be advertised to be vegan GF, but later it was said that the GF bunge was not vegan. Were the full price calculated, although not able to have a Burger beacon. The Veggieburger was dry, no vegan cheese or sauce and took age. Overall, it was a super disappointing experience, especially known as Hebden, to be a very vegan/GF-friendly place. Definitely better and cheaper! to eat in Hebden.

Previously, I had given The White Lion a two-star rating due to the limited and expensive vegan options. The veggie hotpot priced at £14 and the veggie burger at £12 were disappointing in terms of taste and value. Despite being told the burger could be made vegan and gluten-free, I was later informed that the bun was not vegan. I was still charged the full price for a burger without a bun, which was dry and lacking vegan cheese or sauce. The overall experience was underwhelming, especially considering Hebden's reputation as a vegan and gluten-free friendly destination. There are definitely better and more affordable dining options in Hebden.
