"First visit here and very impressed with the whole experience. Food 9/10, service 10/10. Surprisingly not that busy. Also tried booking direct via vintage inns and said fully booked, also other restaurant app said no availability. This one had availability and Resturant was half empty when arrived at 1.30pm in the afternoon. So if the owner/manager is reading this it’s worth looking into as they’re probably losing a lot of business whilst paying for other booking platforms that don’t work!"

Booked a table for lunch but upon arrival was stuck in a corner of the pub with no acknowledgement of booking. Food was poor and no value for money.

a mistake in my decision to finally try this place. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the service was friendly and attentive. The menu had a good variety of options to choose from, and the food was delicious. We ordered the seafood pasta and the steak, both of which were cooked perfectly. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience and I will definitely be coming back again. Highly recommend checking this place out!

"My sister (45) and I (44) visited a restaurant today to celebrate the birthdays of my mum (72) and my godmother (71) after hearing good things about their afternoon tea. I have to say, we were not disappointed. The whole experience was delightful. We were warmly greeted by Linda and shown to our table. They offered a great selection of teas and the food was absolutely delicious. We appreciated the simplicity of the sandwiches and pastries, which were tasty and familiar. The sandwiches included cream cheese and cucumber, ham with Dijon mustard, and egg mayo. The scones were light and fluffy, while the cakes, including Victoria sponge, lemon drizzle, chocolate brownie, and red velvet, were all delicious. The waitstaff, including Lily, Harry, and Linda, were attentive and accommodating. As a special surprise, they brought out individual cupcakes with candles and sang happy birthday to the ladies, which was a lovely touch. I would highly recommend having afternoon tea at this restaurant. It is well worth the money and provides a great experience."

I think I mentioned that none of the six of us had had Xmas Day Lunch out before across combined ages of nearly 350 years! We chose you to celebrate with you as we have always been delighted with the food, ambience and team when we have eaten with you. Christmas Day was no exception … everything was perfect. We loved the food, the atmosphere, service was excellent and not rushed and everyone was delighted with their choices. I would heartily recommend you to anyone for any occasion and handling all your clients so brilliantly during what was a really busy service showed how good you are at what you do. "Like Amber who just posted, we thought we'd found a gem too! Very impressed; the food was beautifully cooked and presented, nice choice, good service. The restaurant is clean, bright and inviting with a good atmosphere. We'll definitely recommend and we'll definitely return. "Es sieht so aus, als hätte der Pub neue Besitzer, da es viel ruhiger war als damals, als wir dort waren. Die Starter brauchten ein Alter, um anzukommen, aber als sie es taten, waren sie gut. Die Hauptmahlzeit war enttäuschend, mit dem Rindfleisch auf zwei der vier Mahlzeiten hart und unterkocht. Der Manager erklärte, dass sie einen neuen Koch hatten und reduzierte die Getränkekosten, entfernte die Kosten für eine Flasche Wein und einige der Biere und entfernte eines der Hauptgerichte von der Rechnung. Insgesamt eine enttäuschende Erfahrung, da wir das hohe Niveau an Essen und Ambiente erwartet hatten"
