"We visited this garden centre for a ‘quick stop’ for coffee and cake as part of a Mother’s Day treat. We waited over 20 minutes in the queue whilst one poor waitress struggled to take orders, make all the hot drinks and take payment, so slow and hugely inefficient. Whilst I waited my wife sat at a free table with our two disabled sons, they’re profoundly autistic and don’t understand the concept of waiting, however, my wife kept them occupied whilst they waited for their cake, they did well, but we were nervous that they’d get very upset at any moment. To make life even more stressful, after 15 minutes of sitting down, but before we’d even been served, an exceptionally rude waitress came marching over and said “this table is reserved, you have to move” not “sorry we haven’t left a reserved sign on this table but these people did actually book this table, would you be kind enough to move” my wife then had to try to move all of our coats, whilst holding onto both boys, whilst she hurried us along, not offering to help. We then got turfed into two small sofas that didn’t haven enough space for all of us, so had to squash in, which wasn’t great. The boys need to eat at a table, which wasn’t possible in this small space without them sitting on the floor and eating from the coffee table. Cake went everywhere, it wasn’t fun. The drinks were nice, but we felt like we’d waited for the coffee beans to grow. Four drinks, two scones (no condiments) and two pieces of cake came to £24! Sadly we wouldn’t be back, they couldn’t handle the amount of customers and were rude, unprofessional and lacked empathy for disabled customers’ needs."
