"This pub is a hidden treasure. Unpretentious and simple but the food and drink is absolutely outstanding. Everyone should try their Sunday roast it's made to a really high standard with very generous portions and a good selection of vegetables. Desserts were excellent too and even the coffees were impressive with some nice latte foam art! Parking is in short supply nearby but if you park in Charlotte St car park you can walk down through Victoria Park and make an afternoon of it."

"I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Bath Soft Cheese Company, and it is a delightful spot for a light lunch! They offer a wonderful variety of cheeses, savory snacks, and sandwiches that are perfect for a casual meal. The service was not only excellent but also friendly, which enhanced the overall experience. I particularly enjoyed the outdoor seating area, which had a pleasant ambiance and created a laid-back atmosphere. My personal favorites were the toasted sandwiches and sausage rolls. While my wife's favorite was the cheese board, we both thought it could have been a bit larger with more options. Overall, the Bath Soft Cheese Company is definitely worth a visit, and we will definitely be returning!"

"choose their pizza base (not tried by the other option) and they get a great pizza. I had number 6 and would do it again. pizzeria is hard to find unless they know where it is! we collected to get away, but you can eat. it is more like an authentic Italian (sardinian) pizzeria and not what they expect in Britain. do not let them turn it off. the type that served me was friendly and we go back, next in norton."

"Such a lovely spot! We were camping at a local campground and it was perfect for our weekend lunch/early diner. Lovely selection of ciders and lush vegan options!!! I had a vegan burger and their vegan cake/sorbet dessert option it was all really lovely. Staff is exceptional as well !! A must if you’re in the area."

"We used to visit this restaurant every time we were in Bath and always enjoyed the food. However, during our recent visit, we found the food to be mediocre and the prices to be double what we remembered. I ordered a basic gyros for £7.50, but it was lacking in filling and only of decent quality. My husband ordered a tray of mixed meats, pitta, and salad for around £14, but it was not as generous in portion size or quality as it was during our last visit in 2020. This restaurant used to be a favorite stop for us on our way home from holiday, but after this disappointing experience, we will not be returning. We felt like we were overcharged for what we received in terms of quality and quantity."

"We visited this cute little cafe on our last day in Bath. As the cafe doesn’t open until 10:30 I had purchased a coffee from elsewhere. We planned to eat breakfast at the cafe and I was the only one with a coffee from elsewhere. A member of staff immediately asked me not not to consume outside goods inside the cafe. I appreciate this can often be the case but was surprised given we were ordering three full breakfasts from there and had waited to do that. My friend who is vegan ordered the vegan pancakes and unfortunately we had to send these back as they were tough and so difficult to cut through and chew. The feedback was well received from staff and they did not charge us for these. The cafe is beautiful with a variety of options on the menu but I think overall the service could be much better. "We were here in a large group for a work Christmas do. I'm sure everyone is trying to do their best but... we waited 15 minutes for our order to be taken and then sat for 45 minutes with just glasses of water and no drinks. We could see a wine fridge but were told the wine had to chill first and was coming from downstairs. We were way past caring if it was chilled. They didn't have enough glasses and we had to go down and get some brandy glasses for our wine. When the food came it was delicious but 3 of our party got their pizzas 10 minutes after everyone else. There just weren't enough staff on to serve three large groups upstairs and all the downstairs customers. When we asked for the service charge to be taken off the bill a senior waitress came and argued with us, asking us why and explaining that they would lose their tips. No sense of the customer being right."

"New staff ! The staff were fantastic. We booked our table online. Greeted promptly and taken to our table. A lovely lady (from South Africa I think) Was very welcoming asked if we would like drinks before making out choice from the new menu. The new menu has plenty to choose from for all tastes. Our food arrived piping hot and presented very well. We were checked on after a short while making sure everything was satisfactory. The food was excellent. The desserts where delightful with a little extra surprise added for a birthday a candle!"

"My boyfriend and I stopped into this pub on our way back from a country walk. We bought some drinks and were having a nice relaxing chat at a table by the bar, when the landlord stormed out of the kitchen and started shouting at...us about the “mess” we had made at our table. He stormed off and then returned a few minutes later, shouting again and gesturing at our boots which he claimed were dirty, even though we had taken great pains to wipe them clean before we entered the pub, shouting “would you treat your lounge like this?!” and shouting at us repeatedly and very loudly in front of a full pub. He completely lost it at us, and we felt really humiliated and taken aback. It was especially shocking because it came completely out of nowhere. The landlord made us feel totally unwelcome, and we would never consider coming back to the pub even though we live locally. A shame because the bar staff were friendly and accommodating, but their manager seems to have an anger problem. I’ve never written a trip advisor review before but this experience shocked me so much that I feel I need to warn people about this."

"We last visited the Waldegrave in late May 22 when the food was delicious and freshly prepared with lots of option available. We visited today and the food is now below average deep fried or reheated pub grub. No vegan or healthy options available, and only one vegetarian option because they didn’t have any vegetable curry or “meat free chilli”. What a shame the food has gone down hill. I think the pub may have changed management since our last visit."

"below is my original, 2 not so good review after having a few months ago a not so good experience, I received an apology a very nice gift from them! here today 29/11/15 to my daughter's birthday, all had on Sunday roasts of 1, the lasagne all very enjoyed! Actually it was one of the best Sunday dinners I had! service was wonderful will come back! many thanks: here has last number 28/7/15 brunette to start, more like mousse very bland! for the main had mixed grill small amount of meat that was cold complained. meat in the microshaft came bk with cold grain! fortunate it has for £9.99 in the offer, would not be able to pay £16.99 original price! cottage pie was made from very cheap mince, tasted like cured bark! children didn't eat it! other meals were in order, they think it's a bit hit with eating here! heard local say the cook could burn salat! the conversation of burning, the whole place was filled with smoke from the kitchen! we had to go to the other end of the pub, because we couldn't breathe! no windows open! overall, quite disappointed :"

"As I walked the dog this frosty morning I happened upon chef Wilf outside the Rising Sun with sous-chef Philippe they told me how they were preparing for covers today so not wanting to miss out I said I’d be down for a...couple of early ones at o’clock. I went for chicken and my Dad had the beef with roasters, carrot, cabbage, parsnip, root mash, lashings of gravy and a beauty of a Yorkshire pudding could not fault it, three slices of wonderfully tender rare beef, three thick cuts of succulent chicken and all the veg cooked to perfection renowned for his wonderful gravy Wilf didn’t disappoint there either, absolutely stunning. Marvellous speedy, friendly and personal service made for a cracking and thoroughly enjoyable Sunday lunch, well done Team Riser take a bow, no wonder it’s so popular "

"Another truly excellent meal here at Peking . Great welcome , good atmosphere and surely the best Chinese in Bath by a long mark . We all had one of the set Menus massive plate of mixed Hors d’oeuvre spring rolls, sesame toast, seaweed , spare ribs etc , followed by superb Peking Duck with pancakes , spring onions, cucumber and sauce . Big choice of main courses all included together with special fried rice all first class. . "Nice little place at a good location on Kingsmead road in Bath. Staff are super friendly and attentive and got us a table as soon as we arrived. We placed the order online by scanning the QR code on the table (though there is the option to order at the counter once you have made your selection from the menu). We took the veggie breakfast and it was all prepared fresh and came out hot! The corn fritters and hash browns were outstanding and the other items were good too. Their focus on helping the planet by being environment friendly showed in little things like getting toast with butter already applied on them rather than giving plastic packs of these items which reduces food wastage and packaging going into landfill. They also only do drinks in reusable cups which can be bought or borrowed in store. All in all a good cafe with good food which does it's bit for the planet. What's not to love!"
