"Updated review following a new experience at Mayflower. My family have visited several times previously, and after good experiences, we visited tonight for a birthday, for the first time in a while. No one had written down our booking, so they weren't expecting us. They promised to squeeze us in and put us upstairs. It was extremely cold under the air con, but we made do. We had the mixed starter, which was very good. The mains came out slowly, and one of them was incorrect. They did take it back and replace it with what we ordered, but it was cold. Then, you get charged a service fee (this is mentioned on the menu). As we felt the service had been rushed and not very friendly, we asked for this to be removed, which it was. They also refunded us for the cold dish. We were very disappointed after having built a good rapport with some of the staff here previously. Let's hope the change of venue improves the atmosphere in the future."
