"We visited for a spontaneous birthday lunch because we hadn’t tried out Sage before. We are both committed carnivores, but decided that we had to try out the, at the time, highest rated restaurant in Crawley. We were impressed by the friendly service throughout the...meal, who was happy to answer questions such as “how does a vegan milkshake work?” and “i don’t know what milk substitute to put into the milkshake, what do you recommend?”. She recommended coconut milk to go with the vanilla milkshake and this was absolutely fantastic. Unfortunately, they had run out of Kombucha, and do not have Coke, but I guess this shows that they are committed to the cause. The meals themselves were very good. I had the Kofta Kebab, much nicer than I had feared, and my girlfriend had an Aubergine and Peanut Butter Curry, which she remarked could have benefitted from slightly more salt, but she likes salty food so this is not unexpected. However, there was no salt or pepper on the table, which would have easily fixed this. The portions were large, neither of us could finish ours, and I would argue this is good value for money. The only improvement feedback we have would be to include salt and pepper on the table and that the cafe felt a little cold in temperature to me. Other than that, we were particularly impressed by the milkshake, the friendly service, and how well the vegan main meals were done."
