"Had to stop in Witchford as the traffic was horrendous going into Ely, and rather wished we hadn't. First of all it was freezing cold in the bar, even though I was sitting right next to the wood burner. Secondly, all they were serving was a sandwich or soup. We chose 2 bowls of soup, which incidentally were tiny and out of a carton, one coffee and one pint of shandy and we were charged £25!! Needless to say, we will not be returning..."

Quaint village pub with reasonable prices, averaging £10-20 per person. The food, service, and atmosphere all rate a 5 out of 5.

Lovely local pub. Quite warm and cosy on a cold evening. Very nice owner too. Definitely recommend paying a visit and grabbing a few drinks.

Warm welcome, friendly host staff, well-kept beer, great pub food and England beating Germany! What more could you want! Will certainly return when next in the area. Thank you.

The owner warmly welcomed us and the selection of food was excellent. The service was quick and overall, it is a fantastic village pub. We will definitely be returning frequently. Speisekarte ansehen

During our stay nearby, we decided to stop by this pub. All of the staff were friendly and the drinks were affordably priced. Unfortunately, we can't provide feedback on the food as we only had drinks.

The Village Inn in Witchford has reopened today, Friday 13th October. I have been informed that there are currently two managers on site. The information board outside displays numerous exciting upcoming events. I wish them good luck for the future and hope that the Inn becomes a successful business for everyone involved. Overall, the food, service, and atmosphere all received a rating of 1.

Called in to ask if they would be open for dinner on the following Monday. The barmaid assured me they would however when we turned up pub was shut! Hard to understand this sort of behaviour! Pathetic customer service! They don't deserve to be running a pub in such a beautiful location! On talking to other villagers this is not the first time it's happened! We have told lots of local people of our negative experience! Speisekarte ansehen

The restaurant's food was very greasy, to the point where it reminded me of a slippery sausage or a greasy hot dog with a strange vegan sauce that reminded me of London. The restaurant should make more effort to clean up the excessive grease. Additionally, the portion sizes were quite small and not satisfying. I would prefer larger, American-sized portions. Despite these critiques, I still love the restaurant. Peace out!

Unfortunately, I have only had the opportunity to visit the Village Inn once so far (though I hope to change that soon!). I was incredibly impressed by the friendliness and warmth of Tim, the owner. I am not always comfortable going to new places by myself, but the cozy and welcoming atmosphere of this pub was so inviting and comforting! I wish more places were like this. I give it a 5-star rating and highly recommend a visit!

"My friend kindly decided to take me another friend along to this her local pub for Xmas lunch on the 12th of December which we were all looking forward too, as we have eaten there before. Unfortunately on entering the pub it seemed quite cold as there was no open fire lite when we asked they told us they had run out of kindling, so we kept out coats on for sometime until we all warmed up. Then when we kindly asked for the menu unfortunately they had none of these as apparently they had ran out of ink for there printer so we then had to look at there written board on the wall, which had fish chips added to it. We were then told by the waitress they had no chips lol but you can have potatoes, unbelievable for a pub to run out of chips. When our meals arrived it was quite disappointing for a Christmas dinner the Yorkshire pud was completely flat, but you did get vegetables served separately which were quite a good variety even though there wasn’t lots. We then went onto order our deserts Once again to add disappointment they didn’t have any crème brûlée so the choice was just Xmas pud with brandy butter or ice cream. So one of my friends could only have ice cream as she’s gluten free who always fancies that on a cold day, me my other friend had the Xmas pud that was served in a pie dish which was not very appealing or professional looking it was served with custard not the brandy butter like the menu said. We did complain as my friends Xmas pud was also lukewarm they did kindly apologise warm it up. Because we complained they did take some of our bill. But I don’t think we will be visiting again anytime soon."
